I am an idiot. I had a chapter typed out, but for some reason (I think I forgot what chapter I was working on) I hit "link chapter" and linked it to another one. I had saved my draft, but this completely erased the draft, and when I unlinked the chapter, it was still gone. Is there a way to get this back or is it gone for good?
Well, it is probably gone. In some cases, it could work to use the back button of your browser. (If you haven't closed the window/tab where the content was visible the last time.) Apart from that, you could ask Friedman if he is able to restore it.
If it is just about unintentionally closing the browser or leaving the site... there are browser add-ons to prevent this for single websites. It shows a popup and asks if you are really sure to leave/reload.
