How to recruit editors/collaborators for your story?

So, one of my goals for 7 Days of Incest is to recruit at least one or two people to act as additional contributors whom I can trust enough to give them the ability to moderate the story as Editors. Anyone have any suggestions about how to go about this?

While I'm at it, how can I encourage others to submit some chapters (not to mention make comments) without having to make the story public?

I'd honestly focus on building the relationship with the folks around here, get to know how they tick, and just ask. That's how my co author and I worked together for a couple months, and it was a great feeling.

Communication is the most important thing. If you want contributors, you really do have to ask for them. If you have a particular author whose style you like, don't be afraid to ask. Worst they can say is No. Some folks don't like to work in certain genres, etc, so don't be too offended if they decline.

Other than that, Good luck, and I hope that you're able to find somebody with the ability and inclination to contribute.

For me, the first thing would be not to tell that until you trust them to do so ;)

Well, I vaguely remember some users asking "random" writers to add to their story which wasn't well received.

Yeah... was kinda the reason I was stressing "Take No for an answer" . :)

The only times I’ve done active collaboration:
    • Someone writes to my story and I support what they do. Limiting advice, and just thanking them and giving them likes.
    • One person and I did a back and forth on one of my stories till we couldn’t continue.
Honestly I’ll give people author status on my stories if they can write more than one chapter with a little care.

Since starting a few months ago, I've wondered about this. Me and one other hit my main story a lot, but I love see others participate in the bigger stories. I haven't asked anyone nor likely will I. I treat wicker as he's as much owner as I am, he's posted a ton in the story.

Generally speaking, I bribe them with food, clothes, and fresh air...

Wait...you mean you guys don't have writers locked up and forced to write smut in your basement?

Soo, what you're saying is they get free food and board and unlimited smut writing time? Where do I sign up?

I wouldn't be so quick to sign up for his offer if I were you. Merkos didn't say anything about how good the food and board would be... so for all you know, you'd be stuck in a rundown shack or a moldy basement with nothing but dried out bread + water to eat & drink.

1st rule about contracts: The devil is always in the details (or apparent lack thereof). Always check for loopholes.

    Yes, they need food...
Yes, they might be motivated by fresh air...

    But clothes???

(Or are you talking about the key of their chastity belt? Ouch ^^)

funnily enough, I do actually have a fairly sizable cinderblock/cement building that could be described as a "shack" out in the middle of the woods. It used to be an amateur radio station and just has a dirt road back to it, but now i use it for D&D and gaming.

    The internet isn't bad.
