I was at the grocery store when a woman walked by listening to a book on audio and I suddenly wondered if their was a market for Chyoa your own erotic audio adventure. Granted it all have to be short, completely written out, and read by a sexy female. Like I said just an odd thought.
It would be hard to implement considering you'd need to be able to input option selections after each chapter. I'd say it would need to be long stories with options coming infrequently because that would feel more immersive than being asked what you want to happen next every other minute. Audio might not be the best medium for a chyoa, but I'd like to listen to some 2nd person perspective conversation styled stories where the voice acted out the story. Is that what phone sex was like?
If a story was far enough down the road, I could see having a program where the story was read out loud and at the end the voice would ask the question and you would choose from the list of choices and it would link to the next chapter and the voice would read on. Of course the voice would need to be story appropriate. Female for 1st person female, Male for 1st person male, either or for 3rd and god help us 2nd.
Literotica has audio stories. If you mean that someone writes a bunch of text then adds some audio similar to images to a story then no I haven't seen those types. That would be fun though.
I believe there's a gold mine to be had if you're a woman with a sultry voice reading people's amateur erotica. Someone like that should definitely start a patreon service.
This made me think of those text to speech programs. I have seen a few good ones but most of them or just awful and could make even a person on Viagra loose their erection.
Way ahead of you on that. Otherwise I would have been running my favorite chapters through them. Plus they aren't going to know when to change the tenor of the voice when the scene becomes intense.
Although now I'm thinking about a sex robot story. There's got to be a fetish for that sort of thing.
Of course having your story read back to helps with editing. Out of curiosity I just ran a chapter through one and I found like five or six minor errors to fix.
You could have options before it starts? "Hard and fast" "Slow burner" sort of thing, a lot of my stories have a variety of building the scene through some chapters or just getting straight into it but choosing some options before listening could lead the listener down various branches. Just a thought as I think this would be brilliant.
I'm sure there is a market for erotica on audiobook but it would be tricky to get it out there and also find someone who would be good enough to do the reading. Doing a Chyoa style thing seems very very tricky to do.
