I just skimmed the list of existing topics briefly, and didn't see anything which matched this, which surprised me. Basically, having stories list a POV and gender is GOOD, but there's a third element that is and always has been missing: TENSE. I propose we update the create story page, adding a new field, Tense. The majority of CHYOA stories are written in Present Tense, and that's a good place to put the default, but I suggest we also include 'Past', 'Various', and (just for the sake of completeness,) 'Future'. All existing stories would be set to the 'Present' default, and as with the recent split between the "Science Fiction" and "Fantasy" categories the older stories could be gradually recatagorized by their owners or the moderators should the story lack an owner to perform that task and the user base find it necessary.
