Hey I was talking to the other moderators and we were talking about making a visual novel from a one of the stories on the site. Was wondering how many people would be interested in it?
Maybe Chyoo Forum's readers are unfamiliar with visual novels. Do you have an inspiring example you could point to?

I think the reason you got so few responses is because you have given very few info to reply to. What kind of visual novel do you plan on making. One with anime style drawings, western style drawings, images of real women, ... Are you specifically looking for a fantasy story to turn into a VN, can it be a sci fi, ... Are there any well-known VN that you take inspiration from like fate/stay night or koihime? Though if you were to ask me for a good story here that can most easily be adapted into a VN i'd suggest 'the virgin heroine'. It's not a story i started but i've added quite some chapters to it and the way i wrote those was to think of it as an rpg game. If you've even played one of those RPG-maker games, that's the ones I'm talking about.
I wouldn't make it, I am not a good coder or drawer. This was just to see if people were interested in the idea of adopting a visual novel on a story from chyoa. If there is enough interest then we would go forward in finding a story that would be good for a novel and getting permission from the author and thread makers. We haven't gotten into much detail about it but my thinking was to hire someone to do it, and finance it using a crowdfunding thing. Or see if someone that is already a part of chyoa that would donate their time. Or something like this, like I said this is just to see if there is enough interest to go forward with the idea. The end goal is to get the novel seen by many people and have the chyoa name on it so we can get more visitors to chyoa. All we know is that we can't do fan fiction for legal reasons. I like most of Tlaero's VN's. I play a few erotic rpg games by lesson of passion and sexandglory.
Ah, like that. I can see why you'd think CHYOA is a good place to find a potential story for a VN. There's going to be a couple out there that lend themselves to adaptation very well. But out of several thousand story's, which ones, and are they even complete story's. If I had any skills in drawing or programming, I'd offer my skills. Sadly the only thing I consider myself having any capability's in is story and character development. (I'm pretty sure many others here do as well ;-) ) I'll see if i can find a few, but that brings us back to my first question, what kind of a visual novel are you focussing on. Japanese or western style? fantasy, sci-fi, slice of life, ...
Right, so I went through some stories I got amongst my favorites and here's a couple stories I think would be good for adaptation into a visual novel. a spooky house This story is about a girl who finds herself in a spooky looking house. Depending on the options taken, she can meet vampires, lycans, zombies, ghosts or other monsters from a horror setting. So far I don't believe there are any chapters posted in which she makes it out safely, so maybe it could be a visual novel that doesn't have a good ending. You just have a choice between bad endings On the way home This one is about a girl who is on her way to her boyfriend but her car breaks down and needs someone to give her a ride. Of course the only guy to do so wants to get into her panties. Depending on the choices she either escapes him, satisfies him with a blowjob, or loses her virginity to him. thrust This is a story about a guy who, together with his family, survived a nuclear war (something similar to fallout) and now they got to get out and try to find survivors. Depending on the choices taken they can find friendly survivors, hostile ones, or mutant creatures. Some of the story arcs here are pretty long though, so it might be difficult for a first CHYOA VN. Maybe for a VN there can be a focus on there only being one group of friendly survivors and after locating them the story can be about which of the survivors the guy hooks up with. 48 hours as a girl main protagonist is male but gets cursed into being a girl for 2 days. If within those two days he gets pregnant, he stays a girl forever. This would be a VN where the idea is to avoid bad endings, while many a reader might intentionally go for a bad ending. What do you think. Do any of them look feasible?
