Found here: https://chyoa.com/story/Moving-to-the-Sexworld.4058 So hey, I'm Ed, and I've been a major contributor on Alex's storyline in Moving to the Sexworld the last few months. And I realize that my comments section was getting a bit... okay, I just fuckin' talk too much, overthink things, y'all get it. Anyway, I wanted to make a place to go here in the feedback area to get a much more open forum for discussion on the project.
Hey Hallo Ed. i like your, Alex. your story is not the usual thing much much more sensuall and ahhhh! Funny and happy positiv. I can read beter than ward. So i realy like your line.
I suppose, as the creator of the thread, I ought to post here. Anyways, I suppose I will take the opportunity to continue the conversation we were having in that last comment re: Maryam. Namely, that when I initially introduced her on the BE Addventure version of this story, I also kinda had the vague idea that while in the real world, Islamic conservatives want women to wear concealing clothes, in Sexworld they want them to wear skimpy harem outfits/bellydancer costumes, mostly because I have a thing for that look. So, she is meant to be Islamic, though not necessarily Persian.
A couple of questions: How do people go from "Prudeworld" to "Sexworld"? Some form of portal? Is immigration restricted? (i.e. do people need to apply? Get visas? Request asylum?) What sort of trade might be going on between the worlds? (Certainly not clothing.) Might there be parallel versions of people? Sexworld versions of Prudeworld people? (Sexworld version of Ann Coulter? Ick!)
I was thinking they've got portals or something. Probably. There's a certain amount of novelty-trade, where people in our world are curious to buy Sexworld versions of stuff and vice versa. Haven't you ever wondered what Disney movies would look like if they were pornos? Absolutely. I had this idea in my head of someone being startled to discover that such-and-such a celeb exists in Sexworld, but that they're different, based on the conceit of everyone in Sexworld being hot, and having more women than men.
@Shendude Thanks for the clarification, though in this case the problem remains the same. Sexualizing Islam is no easy task, and it's the sort of backstory that if I used her I'd HAVE to explore. I can't just leave something like that on the table. And hey, I'm definitely not opposed to the look. I like my characters multifaceted, and I'm all for the positive portrayal of Islam in media, especially these days. But again, the main reason for picking Emily was because she represented an existing set piece I could really sink my teeth into. We know she's holding an orgy after school, that's been part of that narrative since before I came on board. I'd love to include Maryam, but I may have to save her for another route. Unless she arbitrarily shows up at the orgy, and frankly, I don't find that sort of thing to be particularly good writing, she's probably on the cutting room floor for this route, sorry. @Doc I'm going to try to answer these. Now I'm NOT the primary author, so I suspect (and hope) that Shen is going to reply with his own answers, but for now, here is my take on your points. These aren't gospel, but I like trying to figure out answers to things. Shen, feel free to bat my answers down with a hammer if you'd like. I internally call the way between worlds "The Transfer," and other than that, I have no intention on elaborating further. While this story is kinda SciFi, I still want it mostly grounded in reality, at least as far as my writing is concerned. A portal between dimensions may disrupt willingness to suspend disbelief a little too far. I've actually done a lot of thought about this. The way most immigration law is written, it only specifies country, it doesn't account for alternate worlds in which the country of origin still exists. So in this case, while you do have to apply through the Transfer Authority, if you're moving within the country (say prude world Los Angeles to Sexworld New York), they're the only agency you have to work with. If you're moving from, say, Sexworld London to Prude World America, then yeah, you have to deal with the usual international visas, passports, naturalization, etc. Okay, THIS is a cool question. Thank you for making me think! Trade... let me see... Well, let's break it down. I can't imagine agriculture would be ANY different. Military technology, either. So in both cases, trade would be largely useless, other than one side maybe having a surplus of supply of one thing or another the way the market fluctuates, but that wouldn't be outright economic trade so much as reorganization of materiel. Um... technology is tricky. The one invention of my route compared to the others is a major reliance in paperless technology. So Sexworld might be two or three generations of iPad ahead of the prude world, that sort of thing. A noticeable but statistically insignificant jump. And it's not like the paperless thing is even a fabrication, other than the hall passes, I'm not describing anything my college here in the really real world didn't use. After my first year, I stopped carrying notebooks entirely. There was no point. So there might be a case where there are a lot of internal tech mergers (the two IBMs combining their stock instead of competing against themselves), and maybe a minor jump in available technology for the prude world, but again, nothing too extreme. I think Sexworld's biggest export in this case would be phramaceuticals, since due to its nature it has to do things like stop STDs and perfect birth control, etc. What the prude world could send in return, that I don't know. Maybe? This isn't something I even wanted to pretend to touch. There's a philosophical concept out there called the "genetic miracle." If you've ever read Alan Moore's Watchmen, Dr. Manhattan talks about this briefly. Basically, you only exist because of the exact circumstances which allowed you to exist, generation after generation. Thus your very existence is a miracle, because any variation in your history would have resulted in a different person, born of a different sperm and egg. In the real world, parental matches usually come as a result of social mores, customs, everything else. Since Sexworld is a world in which the social mores and customs are so completely different, would circumstances of the world allow for the same people's parents to even meet? Grandparents? Beyond that? So I'm going to file this one under "possibly." It's a VERY murky subject. And... Shen beat me to it! Unrelated to anything, as I was typing this, I had an idea pop into my head. "What would a Sexworld biker gang look like?" That may be something I explore in another route.
'S cool. Yeah, this is basically my thinking as well. This is good thinking, and i wish I had a better answer. While this is true, from a logical standpoint, Sexworld would have an entirely different history than our world, so I feel that taking that little handwave a step further isn't TOO out of line. I have myself, though mainly centering around the conceit that since Sexworld has very skewed male-to-female ratio it is thus more egalitarian WRT gender, so it's common to see women in what we Prudeworlders would consider to be heavily masculine roles. That is to say, I tend to think in terms of hot biker chicks. Also, the idea that vehicles in Sexworld come with seat-mounted vibrators.
As you may have noticed, I actually ignore that conceit in my route. Especially since it doesn't seem to come up until partway through a couple of the other routes. No real reason here other than I like hetero sex, and gangbangs would be hard to coordinate if there were less men in the world. Put simply, since I'm working with a female lead, if she wants dick, I don't want her to have to work for it TOO hard. Plus, let's be honest, a LOT of guys would start going over to Sexworld if they heard it was full of constantly horny women just for an easy hookup. They'd probably be less inclined if those horny women were attended to by equally horny men. I've sort of replaced it on my side with a more general blending of traditional gender roles, and obviously the sexual politics are completely different. Basically a whole lot of actions are now co-ed. So the end result is mostly the same, but with easier access to any kind of sex you want instead of someone having to wait in line. And vibrators on the seats is kind of a "duh" factor. God that's sexy... yeah, I may have to start some basic outlining today. Fuck it.
I grok the logic; I admit that the said conceit comes in large part from my harem fantasies. Also, for some reason a lot of my Sexworld theorizing tends to revolve around reimagining various media as they'd be in Sexworld, and it pleases me to invert the Smurfette Principle. Also, mentally, it makes it easier to not have lots of M/M stuff, which I'm not really into but logically should be there. That works for me. Sorry?
Yeah, I think that's a pretty big difference between our writing styles. You like the harem thing, I'm more of a poly guy. I just like the idea of a general "everyone fucks everyone else" approach. Do I sense a Troper? I feel like I sense a Troper. Anyway, I definitely get that. Most of my favorite shows over the last several years involve strong female characters and presences. Blindspot, Fringe, The Closer/Major Crimes... not Supergirl, but I blame that mostly on not really liking the character. So I definitely feel you when you say that. Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I've kind of... glossed over the M/M stuff, it's definitely happening, but I'm not gonna be the guy to describe it. Well you should be. Since this is your fault.
Wow... for almost two weeks I was playing in my mind with a story arc of my own in that world, but after reading this threat I think I will pass on this one. Too many details to miss but with Shendude and Edwards21 the story is in very good hands.
No no no! Mu, come on! It's not like we can't do alternate continuities. That's... kind of the whole point of the site. If you have a different interpretation, please just go for it!
I take a writing break for a few weeks and things blow up like this!? Lol. @edwards21 & @Shendude I actually plan on tackling things like trade and elaborating on how the transfer works with my Rachel story-line. I did figure that things like pharmaceuticals and sex-toys was a given for trade. Edwards, I really like the mild technological advances you introduced for Sexworld, and I like the idea of tech companies merging across worlds. I've also thought about a sex trade of sorts, where men and women from Sexworld would move to Prudeworld to be sex-workers because of how easily lucrative it is for them to do what they do all the time. I mean, the average Sexworlder is fucking more than a prolific porn-star, so they must have incredible endurance and there's also the novelty of an "alien porn-star/stripper/prostitute." And since I'm a sci-fi writer myself the whole workings of how people between worlds truly fascinates me. The way I imagined it a space-time fracture was discovered during experiments with a Large Hadron Collider like device occurring simultaneously in both worlds. Over time scientists learned to harness this fracture allowing for trans-dimensional portals. @mu70 For realsies, contribute your storyline! The beauty of Moving to Sexworld is how many different stories and fetishes can be explored in this consistent universe. And its all a fiction we're building so you can feel free to add whatever, I'm sure it can mesh. This story belongs to all of us! Free love style! haha
Currently writing a new storyline which I hope will be interesting and add to how our universe and the Sexworld universe co-exist. I've written something similar on Writing.com where basically anything can happen in an advanced, technology world, but I like the idea of having our modest world being connected to the free-sex and "bonobos" world. It will basically be following a man who is part of a special force that engages illegal immigrants from Sexworld and those who hide behind our governments to try to slowly promote integratation between our universe with Sexworld. It'll be hopefully somewhat badass as well as show the lives of those who moved from Sexworld and learning to be more disciplined and modest, loving with more specificity than generality.
I was the one who copied over your BE stuff to CHYOA. I now realize that you might not have moved it over yourself because you didn't feel it suited the different take on the Sexworld you've started here. If that's how you feel, I don't see a point in expanding that part of the universe. I mostly copied it because I like this story and there was some content on BE that didn't exist on the CHYOA. There's no point deleting it, if somebody likes that part then more power to them. I agree that working with Islam is a difficult subject, which is why I generally leave those kind of details out when describing a person. At least for me, I tend to ignore some physical descriptions of people and just imagine them how I want them to look. Also @Shendude, given how more people are adding storylines from the root of the CHYOA, we should change the original description to better suit that. For instance, Rachel isn't even mentioned as being part of the Arton family.
Oh, I don't mind at all; I do wish you'd have asked first and given attribution, is all. In this particular case, back on the old CHYOO, you only had four slots for additions, as opposed to the BE Addventure's six, or five if you don't count the "something else", and that's the primary reason for the difference. Perfectly reasonable. What would you suggest?
Hey guys, just a quick little statement. Please, please, please add tags to the chapters you add. Elmer's branch has added some tags which I don't really think represent our story as a whole, and I can't seem to edit my chapters to include tags. I don't want people searching for stuff with Elmer's tags, then coming back at us giving us downvotes wondering why the rest of our branches aren't like that.
You should be able to add the tags below the question, just type what you want and then press enter. The tags may not appear on the story description, but try searching for your story using the tag in the search bar. I attempted this my own story with the term, deep throat and it pops up even though it is not listed in the tags within the description. Tags appears to be only shown in the sidebar after a new chapter is posted. (I do not know if this is a bug or intended, Friedman is best to ask.) Removing tags should work as well. For example, I removed sex-batman (It's not too far off for the character I am focusing on, but I felt I was being too silly) even if looks like it is listed. Again, searching in the bar on top of the site doesn't give me the specific story, even though it gives me a lot of other results.
