THIS is my new story: [Multi-Quest]
    The Pokémon Apocalypse.

I am going to be publishing at least 2 storylines, and would welcome other authors, but I also planed, right from the start, to do some world building here on the forums:

Things that need to be Decided:

1: How do we handle the Legendary Pokémon?

1a: They Exist, but only animals, plants, and machines can become them.
1b: They Exist, and some humans may become them.
1c: They Exist, and are the only Pokémon that aren't transformed from anything.
1d: In spite of the cover image: They DON'T Exist.

    2: Are 'Trainers' Pokémon?

2a: Yes, They Are: a variable type like in the early cartoon.
2b: Yes, They Are: a 'normal' type with limited moves.
2c: No, They Are Not: this explains why Pokéballs can't catch them.

3: How Many Moves can a Pokémon know at once?

3a: Two; like in "Pokémon GO!"
3b: Four; like in the first video games.
3c: Eight; like in the latest games.
3d: ALL of them; like in the story that inspired this new one.

    4 & 5: Pokémon Breeding?
(These questions need more explanation than the others. 4 basically asks: do Pokémon breed like in the games, real life, or something else; and how does this affect thier offspring? 5 is related to 'Trainers': can they interbreed with humans, and if they are Pokémon can they breed with other Pokémon?)

4a: Pokémon breed exactly like in the games in all respects.
4b: Pokémon breed like in the games, but all egg groups must match, crossbreeds look different from purestrains, have more than a few alterered moves or even types*, and many eggs will be infertile.
    *(Ah-la the Aloha/Lowland variants from Gen 7.)
4c: Pokémon breed like in the show.
(Interbreeding is more limited, and mostly requires genetic engineering.)
4d: Pokémon breed like in the real life.
(Cross breeding can only occur in closely related species and offspring are almost always infertile. Additionally, not all Pokémon lay eggs.)
4e: Something Else... (Please explain in your post...)

5a: 'Trainers' are fully compatible with humans. If 'Trainers' are Pokémon they occupy a unique breeding class.
5b: 'Trainers' are fully compatible with humans. If 'Trainers' are Pokémon they occupy the "humanoid" breeding class.
5c: 'Trainers' are incompatible with humans. If 'Trainers' are Pokémon they occupy a unique breeding class.
5d: 'Trainers' are incompatible with humans. If 'Trainers' are Pokémon they occupy the "humanoid" breeding class.

For those of you interested in the story which inspired this one, it can be found HERE.

I'll write a Pokemon thread (I'm assuming that, as they're ex-human (or at least some of them are), they retain a high enough level of intelligence to avoid beastiality, and can communicate in Morse Code).

    But voting?
1c (In fact, the Legendaries started the apocalypse).
    2c
    3c
4b (only resisted the urge to make this one C because I want hybrids).
    5c

Your assumptions are correct with two small caveats:

1: They remain fully as intelligent as they were before the change, if not moreso. (Transformed Plants in particular gain an animal level intellect.)

2: Sure: provided they know Morse Code... (Which, BTW, is one of the dozens of reasons I keep a Morse Code cheat sheet in my wallets.)

Edit: Turns out the forums don't like double spacing.

"3c: Eight; like in the latest games." What on Earth are you talking about?

    Otherwise, for voting:
    1c (Same as Generic)
    2c
    3b
    4b
    5a/b (doesn't matter with 2c)

Lastly, pardon my inexpertise, but what does [Multi-Quest] mean and what is dub-con?

I could have sworn I heard somewhere that after GenV the cap on moves per Pokemon was doubled to 8...

    Anyway, votes counted...

    As for your other questions:

[Multi-Quest] is exactly what it says on the tin: Multiple "Quest" type stories set in the same universe and built under one umbrella, but each effectively a different story after the introduction chapter...

"Dub-Con" stands for 'Dubious-Consent': which in my eyes makes not one whit of difference vs Out-and-out RAPE. This may not be realistic, but in my stories you either obtain full and informed consent or you just don't have sex.

Thank you for answering. One last question, what is a "Quest" type story? Is that a story with audience participation, or what?

It's one where the author posts one or more lists of votable options, which are then voted on by other users via comments, and the ones that win become part of the next chapter, which probably has another vote (unless the Author really knows where they're going now and don't want it spoiled, or it's a Bad End), and so it goes.

With the story having reached a point that I MUST have answers to these questions, I cast my own votes to break the ties:

3c: I have always thought 4 moves was too limited.
5b: doesn't really matter with 2c, but I register my stance for posterity.

EDIT: In light of recent events IRL and my known stance on fiction affecting real world events, even to a small degree: I am declaring an executive override Vis-A-Vis questions 2 and 5.

A: Trainers are niether Pokemon nor humans, rather something in between, but CAN learn Pokemon 'moves' of various types like in the early cartoons and have one or more 'types' like a Pokemon which decide the moves they can learn. (Normal, Fighting, Poison, Psychic, Dark, Dragon, Steel, and/or Fairy to be specific.)
B: Trainers can 'evolve' into new types with adequate training: this doesn't change their other stats or appearance, save that they might gain some cosmetic sign such as a person who gained the fairy type sparkling in sunlight.
C: Trainers default type is "Normal", they may add one other type from those listed at level 25, and sub out a new type in place of "Normal" at level 50. At levels 75 and 100 they may add ANY type in place of an existing one.
D: This is where the real overide happens: Trainers may cross breed with both humans and any egg group of Pokemon. There further are some special conditions where they can breed even with "unknown" types, including legendaries. (Which is the only way a legendary Pokemon can breed at all...)
E: When breeding with either Pokemon or humans the "Trainer" type is dominant. A Trainer's children are always Trainers, weather born from a womb or hatched from an egg. That said, those born from Pokemon will have certain cosmetic and functional markers of their Pokemon heritage: most common being a minor color divergence between them and the trainer parent, and their starting type reflecting that of their Pokemon parent. (A female Trainer who married a Primeape would have Trainer children whose base type was 'Fighting', or an Ivysaur 'Grass': as examples...)
F: This decision was reached based on a simple fact: interbreeding of different Human 'Races' yields a strengthening of the offspring: and I do not chose to write a story that promotes the idea that those who were once human are no longer People, with the right to love who they will, court any who are willing, and have children together if they desire and are capable of it.

That is my decision, I have spoken.

    EDIT2:

P.S.: 'Trainers', despite numerous similarities to Pokémon and the ability to be fully cross fertile with them: cannot be caught in Pokéballs nor forced to obey higher level Trainers the way Pokémon can. They may however still be coerced by mundane means...

P.S.2.: I appreciate the feedback you both have given me and your votes on the questions! I apologize for taking this stance that invalidates two of your votes, but couldn't in good conscience allow the story to go forward with the options as they stood. I hope you will be willing to help with further information votes, I promise to consider weather I already have a strong stance on the answers to future questions before they are posted.

    Established Content:

1: The Legendary Pokemon Exist: They may have been the cause of The Pokémon Apocalypse.
2: 'Trainers' are neither Pokémon nor human, but occupy a strange middle ground. Their types are variable, and can change as they level up.
3: A Pokémon (or trainer) may have 8 moves at most memorized at any one time.
4: Pokémon breed like in the games, but all egg groups must match, crossbreeds look different from pure strains, have more than a few altered moves or even types*, and many eggs will be infertile.
    *(Ah-la the Aloha/Lowland variants from Gen 7.)
5: 'Trainers' are fully cross fertile with Humans, All Pokémon, and Each Other as long as genders match up correctly. Their children, regardless of parentage, are always more 'Trainers'. If they breed with Pokémon their children may start out as something other than "Normal" types and learn moves appropriate to that type.

    New Questions!

6: Should there be new types introduced?
(Looking at the following ideas: 'Light', 'Angel', 'Demon', 'Artifact,' 'Reptile', 'Fish', and 'Mammal'...)
(Vote for as many as you like, provided they make sense. Additionally if any new types are added we will have to do more work choosing where they are assigned and what their immunities, resistances, and weaknesses are.)

    6a: Yes to 'Angel'.
    6b: Yes to 'Light'.
    6c: Yes to 'Mammal'.
    6d: Yes to 'Demon'.
    6e: Yes to 'Reptile'.
    6f: Yes to 'Fish'.
    6g: Yes to 'Artifact'.
    6h: Yes to All.
6i: No to any I haven't specified as yes...
6*: I have another suggestion! (Please describe in your post, and remember, each new type adds more work down the line...)

7: How rare are "Pokémon Items"?

7a: Extremely Rare; 10% of related items transformed or less. (This requires a minor rewrite and many plot alterations.)
7b: Quite Rare; 20% of related items transformed or less. (This requires a minor rewrite and some plot alterations.)
7c: Rare: 30% of related items transformed or less. (This requires a minor rewrite and a few plot alterations.)
7d: Uncommon: 40% of related items transformed or less. (This requires a minor rewrite.)
7e: Common: 50% of related items transformed on average. (Present Default Position.)
7f: Plentiful: 60% of related items transformed on average.
7g: Abundant: 70% of related items transformed on average. (This requires a minor rewrite.)
7h: Ubiquitous: 80% of related items transformed on average. (This requires a minor rewrite and a few plot alterations.)

8: There are going to be quite a few factions and splinter groups with the world suddenly in chaos: Who are they?
(We will decide on those of countries other than the USA if/when that becomes relevant: for now we need to vote on who will emerge as the big players in the United States in the next few weeks of in-story time...)

    8.1: The Fixed Factions:

The following groups are not up for voting, they simply WILL be major players in the ensuing chaos:

A: The United States Government. (They have toeholds throughout the country, But the core of their power is the North East.)
B: The New Southern Confederacy. (All the old confederate states except Texas.)
C: The American Nazi Party. (Has seized control of much of the northwestern USA, and is also a major political party in the Confederacy.)
D: Team Skull. (A trans-ethnic organized crime syndicate: it arose from "The High Council" a group of extremely charismatic leaders during the [mostly successful] prison riots following people becoming Pokémon.)
E: The Republic of Free California. (Social Justice Warriors: but in this universe they practice what they preach...)
F: The Lord's Believers. (Radicalized 'Fundamentalist Christians': They exist as terrorist cells throughout the USA and Canada.)

8.2: Now for the actual votable options:

8a: The New Republic of Free Vermont. (Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine have seceded from the union as well, but they're the USA's allies rather than enemies.)
8b: The Black Panthers. (Whitey's gotta pay!)
8c: The Republic of Free Texas. (The Lone Star State decides to actually become 'lone'.)
8d: The First-Nations Revolutionary Army. (Native-Americans who want their continent back...)
8e: Team Valor. (Blood For the Blood God!)
8f: Team Instinct. (Pokemon only Beotch!)
8g: Team Mystic. (We can rebuild: better, faster, stronger!)
8*: I have another suggestion! (Please describe in your post.)

I look forward to hearing from the readers!

6b and g (forming a new Grass-Fire-Water style weakness circle, with Dark being weak to Light, Artifact being weak to Dark, and Light being weak to Artifact).
    7e
    8.2
All of them, PLUS Team Blade (A bunch of insane head-hunters, with a penchant for knives and white vans) and the Communist Republic of Washington (a communist government in the old-school, Stalinist style - the bitter enemies of the American Nazi Party, for obvious reasons). Hello, geopolitcal mayhem...

EDIT: Just realised this makes Oregon a horrible place to live, as it's probably Nazi-aligned, but between California and Washington, meaning that it's constantly being attacked by the Republic of Free California and the Socialist Republic of Washington, resulting in an endless stalemate with troops pouring in from the other Nazi-held states, and probably some Confederates, only to be crushed in a pincer manouvre.

    Nobody wins. Oregon loses.

Pokémon Items are anything and everything from the games and shows that doesn't normally exist IRL: reviveable fossils, Pokéballs, TMs and HMs, the special Pokémon enhancing vitamins and mineral supplements, soft drinks which restore stamina, etc, etc, etc.

Oh, one word of caution: the only type of Pokéballs which exist to begin with are blog standard starting Pokéballs.
