Pretty well self explanatory if you listen to music when writing your chapters what do you listen to.

Myself i tend to put on a oldie station that pays a good selection of what considered Classic hits from the 60's to the beginning of the new millennium!

For the most I listen to trance-ish techno (or whatever the kids are calling it nowadays) when I write. The less lyrics the better. People singing distracts me too easy, and I have enough problems with grammar and typos. The faster the music though, the faster I write. And sometimes it can be fun just to get into that manic stage and let the words pour out and see where the story ends up... then go back and see how badly I have to edit it to make it legible.

And if I ever find myself lacking inspiration for a smutty scene, one listen to Lords of Acids' "I Sit On Acid", and no more writer's block.

I'm old -- back in my day, "oldies" stations would play music from the beginning of the "rock 'n' roll era" (1954 or so) up to the early 1970s.

I like some music from every decade, but I usually don't listen to anything when I'm writing.

I prefer to write to classical. No lyrics to distract you and most great movies are scored with it.

I write mostly to classical, dubstep (preferably with minimalistic lyrics, seems to be common) or just pure silence depending on my mood. Mostly it's dubstep though. The very few times i write fight scenes i actually listen to Metal, don't know why but it works for me.

I listen to either video game music or a band called Delain. They're a Symphonic Metal band out of... Holland I think, I may have to look it up, and their lead singer Charlotte has the perfect porn-writing combination of being incredibly sexy and having an incredible voice.

Always happy to make a new Delain fan!

They're doing their first US headline tour next year, with support from Hammerfall. I saw them opening for Sonata Arctica, for Kamelot, and for Nightwish over the years, they are... SUPERB live. One of the best live acts I've ever seen. Can't WAIT to see a headline show from them!

And yes, Charlotte's even sexier live.

Ministry of Sound, Ben Benassi, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Lots of club and dance stuff. Don't know why this stuff helps me write (not saying I'm good at writing mind you), just does, maybe I need to see a shrink!

Another one in the classical category, but I'm kind of odd: it's not the slow sensual stuff, but the things that would not quite be out of place in a club that I groove on: The 1812 Overture, Bethoven's 5th, night on bald mountain, etc...
