Hello! Welcome to the thread for my second (third) attempt at a story on Chyoa. My Best Friend is my Teacher! I haven't really used Conditional Variables a whole lot and this story is my first attempt at utilizing it to make a dynamic story. As I posted the summary chapter of the first month and attempted to throw in all of the possible outcome, I felt now was a good time to open up a forum thread for questions, comments, contributions, and most importantly as a place where we can work out any kind of screw up's I've managed to do with the conditional variables. This story is very loosely based on real life. I had a good friend in high school who took a lot of college courses before he graduated. Before I was finishing my second year of College, he was actually finished with his degree and teaching in my old high school. So while he didn't teach me personally, we both know people who would have very possibly have still been in school and taught by him...Although i never asked the question of whether he did teach someone we were friends with. So that was the very loose inspiration for Natalie. For Olivia...Her inspiration is actually my first girlfriend. She's girly, needy, and a bit possessive. Full disclosure: She and I broke up shortly after I went to college because she started cheating on me the first month i was gone...That was not fun and might be why Olivia may not be shown in the brightest of lights, but I'll try and make her more sympathetic. no promises. Emily is sort of a hybrid between one of my school friends and a girl that I had a crush on for a couple of years. She's a party girl and pretty...sexually prolific and casual about relationships. She hasn't had too much of a part in the story yet, but she will as time goes by. So yeah, Honestly I'm not quite ready to go HAM on updating the story regularly. I haven't planned much out outside of the first month...although I do have ideas for most(if not all) of the ending. However, with all of the conditional stuff, I wanted to post it to get more eyes to make sure things are working right.
This looks neat and incredibly complicated. Good luck with it! One thing I noticed; you mention that the name can be customized, but the normal custom text bars aren't available on the sidebar. Not sure if that has to do with the gaming system getting in the way or what.
If both conditions and customization are active for a story customization options go Into a separate tab within the sidebar which has to be specifically clicked.
I'm hoping that the overall simplicity of the story will help keep it from getting too complicated. Overall it's a fairly simple concept of "Make girl happy to have them like you more, get access to more chapters involving them, then some sort of ending". Admittedly in hindsight it seems as if I've made Olivia a little bit too easy. I think doing everything right in the first month gives you like a 90%(checking this made me notice that i missed a possibility where the main character has great relations with Olivia and good relations with Natalie. Granted, a fairly unlikely set of events.) I suppose that's not bad, considering she starts at 80% and she does start as the main character's girlfriend. Still...I had planned on Emily being the one that's the easiest to "win over". Also Nemo is right about the customization thing .There is a separate tab on the side for it.
