One of the biggest problems I have with writing on chyoa is that desire to post regularly then later on down the line realize I didn't like something or wish I had done something different. Do I delete the chapters I wrote to fix it or just branch the story off from just before I felt like I made the mistake in the plot. Editing a story all together or chapter by chapter.

I would say edit it chapter by chapter, or if it seems to be popular despite your opinion on it, create alternate chapters and leave the orignals for those that enjoyed them.

This is why I like planning. You write down your ideas, expand upon them to your greatest effort, maybe compose a few draft chapters, and leave it all alone. Return in a month and decide if you're still passionate about the concept. In a sense, you're starting off 'later down the line' so you already have the benefit of hindsight, to some degree.

Obviously, that doesn't help anything that's already been published. I would agree with genesis - branch off. Being able to explore alternate story paths if you so choose is largely the point of CHYOA.

On the other hand, if your intended changes are radically different, then I don't see a problem with making a new story (as I believe you've already done before).
