I'm trying to add a picture to one of my chapters. I've followed the instructions in the guide, but every time I try to post something, I just get a little icon signifying that the picture is broken. Can someone please walk me through it? Sorry to post this. I tried looking up answer using the forum's search function, but I wasn't finding anything.
I've found some pictures just won't link. Try from different sources. The instructions in the guide should work. Good luck.

Markdown just "puts" the link into an HTML <img> tag, so if it works that way, it should also work with the Markdown syntax. Some image links have some additional information after the extension which might prevent that the image is shown. So try to open the image in a new tab, then copy the link address but skip everything after the extension.
I had this very problem (broken picture icon) and messaged Freedman. His recommendation to me worked: make sure you are linking not to the webpage but to the image itself. Go to the hosting page and right-click to copy the image location. That's what you want to put next to [].
