During the last days I was busy setting up a new forum and connecting it to the website. I have decided to go this step, as there are continuously problems with the communication between Literotica and the moderators. With the introduction of this new Chyoo forum it is now also possible to send messages to other users under the known username. Since Kaitou has done a great job, I'm glad that he remains a moderator. You can use your Chyoo login credentials to log in to the forum. If you have suggestions for new sub-forums or categories, please let me know. Users with the same email address but different usernames (a relic of the old Chyoo) have only one login for the forum. Only one of your usernames works. Users whose username was an email address have a username without the TLD suffix. If you can't log in, write me. I am happy about your comments and suggestions.
Ok I've an idea for the forum. A new forum section dedicated to stories. Name it "Stories feedback" or something similar (suggestions welcomed) RULES: - maximum one thread per story - the title of each thread must be the title of the story Inside each thread, users can write about what they would like to see in that story, make suggestions to authors, compliment them, etc..
Or, most importantly, offer background information and links that will aid other authors in researching the source material crucial to the story. As an example, I found a very interesting story on the site about monsters of ancient Grecian myth, and I'd love to contribute to it to learn more of the subject matter, but I know so little of those myths to begin with! It's only four pages long, too, meaning that there's plenty of unwritten pages to be had! Of note, I found Explore Crete during a Bing search, and I hope that'll help, but there are other juxtapositions (such as historical context, even if this particular story does invoke fantasy elements) and human perspectives a written document can't necessarily interpret for you. I feel like a story's best advertisement is to keep it at Chyoo's front page by contributing to it, even though I look forward more to responding to other authors' additions, but I can see the merits of discussion. On the other hand, it could be a bit of an over-stretch to hop between the main site's comments and the forums, though the forums might give us a better glimpse into the working process of a story. I think the "Chyoo Authors" forum section caters to what you're suggesting, Mr. B. I kind of feel like the comments section on each story itself covers suggestions and compliments already. :3
Meh, I don't know. The comment section isn't so visible right now, and even if it was it would point to a single thread and be immediatly visible only to the author of that thread. A dedicated thread on the forum would center the attention of all those interested in that story, would not scatter the comments, and would generally be a better way to give suggestions\preferences on the story plot. The Chyoa authors section is more of a place for authors to chat (like the topics you started) All IMHO of course, I'll let you guys decide
I think a separation of "Chyoo Authors" makes sense. Particularly in the light of the fact that comments can be submitted only per thread at the moment and it is hardly a means for discussion. I have therefore renamed "Chyoo Authors" in "Authors' Hangout" and added another forum called "Story Feedback". At a later time we still can set up a message board for each story on its cover page.
