So, here's another idea, and it was mine: what if like the top chapters of the site, there's a page of that for each author? To ease the strain, it should update only once daily for each author, with individual authors checked one by one throughout the day. To be useful, it should be readily accessed from the author page. This way, authors, such as myself and many of our other major contributors, can see which of their chapters get the most likes, and try to decern deeper patterns that they can use to improve their writing. (Besides "Put sex in it", it's not a perfect tool, but it's a sight better than not having one at all...) Further suggestions?
I love the idea above, i do wish there was an easier way to see which of my chapters are more successful than others and would love to be able to see if chapters have had repeat readers (Doesn't have to give names) but some form of indication of how many repeat readers we have could sway the following chapters or contributions?
So a sorting option for the chapters tab of the profile page? I think it would be too expensive to meter. Currently, a view has no connection with a reader. write for broad, deep stories with many chapters and many favorites... I think you can't compare how good is your own writing by the number of likes. This may work within a single story but won't when comparing chapters of different stories. This could even have bad effects. If you write chapters for a story with a certain, more popular fetish but neglect less popular fetishes, these stories could get rare and readers of that fetishes could switch to other writing sites. This would make the more popular fetish to be even more popular. Well... basically you can call that "mainstream". Not sure about that. In my story, I have a tender shower scene after sex which got twice as many Likes as the core sex chapters.
