Ok, so I am not new to writing erotica or choose your own adventure (I have 3 so far), but I am new to this site and was wondering is it common to keep things short? Most of my chapters are longer, but when I read them (chapters) here, I see that most are rather short and to the point. Is this preferred? Are people looking for a good story, with detail and whatnot, or are most just looking for the dirty bits and moving on? I guess that would really depend on the person, but being new here, I thought I would ask.

I have a story that I wrote 2 years ago that I am quiet proud of that I was thinking about posting here and seeing where people took it. It is a choose your own adventure but when I wrote it, I ended each with a choice that I let the readers vote on before writing the next chapter and have always wanted to go back and explore the other paths. I am just worried that my chapters are a bit too long (although full of fun) for the readers here.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and just jump in and see what happens.

Side note: I have dyslexia, so sometimes my sentences might not make so much sense to others seeing them "normal" so I apologize if something is worded weird.

In my opinion, texts and stories are in many ways a very subjective matter. What pleases one reader is annoying to another reader. I am also quite new to this site, but I have seen quite diverse stories already. Some with longer texts, some with shorter ones. Some who, in fact, follow one path from beginning to end, and others where authors try to branch off as quickly as possible. And so on.

I would say, go for it, and see how people react. Some might like it. Some might not. But that's the case with almost every story.

I, for myself, can very well distinguish between "Very nicely done but not my cup of tea" and "Badly written and boring".

    Welcome!

Moonblack's collaborative Adventures in Syrada, a sexual RPG story hosted on the Chyoa Forums rather than the story site, uses a poll-driven next chapter choice among the players with the consequences narrated by the author.

It also depends on your style, some people may like, others may not, but its always important to find a style you enjoy that is able to express your thoughts clearly through words. writing is very much an artform, and writers are rather like painters, but instead of colors you are painting with words. you are basically utilizing words to paint imagery in the minds of the reader. It also helps that whatever you are writing, particularly on a site like this, does have some sense of an ending, but also enough breath and scope to build off of the contributions made by others.

I will check it out. Thank you. This style of writing here is new to me, but I'm finding it interesting to read the different styles
