I've noticed for awhile the section called Notable Writers all the way at the bottom and decided to check out some of their works. Problem, the five or so I checked before giving up didn't have any stories or threads. It seems like a section called "Notable Writers" would promote writers who, well, write and preferably write well. Edit: Decided not to be lazy and check them all. Of the 10 on the front page, zero stories, zero chapters.
Notable writers are about "Trophies/Rewards". As far as I know, there are currently no trophies, so everyone has the same "level". Therefore, the current notable writers are just random user.
There is an award. "At the Beginning" given to profiles that were transfer from the old site I think. Still it would be nice if that section meant something. Maybe implement awards for First Story and First Chapter, to push some profiles with written work to the top so the section has some meaning. Not sure how you could set up other awards without having people trying to game the system though.
Recognition is always nice. I try to follow anyone who has wrote a few chapters that I like. I actually hit the like button on a chapter if I like it. So maybe if we had awards for number of likes, bookmarks, etc... It would also be helpful for new people as the notable author category would actually be useful.
Any thoughts from the admins on this? I second the idea that the "notable writers" should either be about people who contributed a lot, gathered a lot of likes, and so on - or it should be abolished completely. As of now, it doesn't make any sense.
Gotta state, this one has annoyed me a bit too, takes up valuable real estate that could be given to something more worthwhile, and as for that whole 'there at the beginning' thing? Who the fuck cares? I mean it would mean something if it was only awarded to people who had stories published before the site transfer, but without that...

I see that you started implementing (or just testing) the new award system. I don't know if anyone said it, but - Good Work! We, low common users of chyoa, appreciate the work that you put into this website!

Not only your own. If you click on a notable writer and go to his award section you can basically see what's implemented so far. I only lack 1000-chapter and the veteran-award, it seems... Great work!
