The vast majority of all my pics on imgur have disappeared. They were there a few days ago and have now gone. Weirdly, it's not all the porn ones, about 30 or so porn pics are still there. I'm wondering to pics on imgur have a shelf life? The ones that are still there are fairly new. I never actually publish any pics on imgur, just save them to a folder which has been good enough for image hosting for years for me. It's annoying, I put a lot of work into my cast pages. Got to start over now.
I sympathise. To try to recover the pics - try entering the chapter where you have pic saved, and open it's code - the link should still be there. Maybe, if they are still on imgur, you could gain access to your lost pics that way. I could also recommend to use 'imgbox' hostsite for pics. It's primitive but did not fail me before.
Thanks, they're not on Imgur any more, ive got 67 left, from around 400. I'll need to start over. I'll try imgbox. Have you used it for very long? What's it like?
I used it for a couple of years... I don't remember how long - around 5? It's primitive in usage, but I quite like it. There is a limit on how big files/movies you can put there. I don't think it supports .web pics but there is no problem with older files like .png .jpg .gif - the moving gifs stay in move so there is no problem there. If you decide to use it, and have problems, let me know and I will help if I can.
I had a quick look and like the idea of simple, i mean, I literally just need the hosting, not all the other stuff that imgur and the like provide, I've got no interest in sharing the files or posting them publicly etc. So it sounds like a good option. I've registered but they've not sent the confirmation email yet.
If I remember correctly... it took them around half an hour to send me the confirmation? Something like that. You can share your galleries and pics, but only if you give link to them. Also, deleting the pics is annoying - takes some time to find the one you want to delete.
If there's no limits on how many you can have I'm not worried about deleting to much, so I can live with that.
The image can't have more than 10 mb. As for the limit of space, maybe there is a limit, but you know, I have more than 1100 pics and still not have hit the limit.
Really? Huh... I never noticed... well, I also never really cared to notice as long as they were where I wanted them.
I would: 1)check the blocked email - because it could be in spam 2) send the request again 3)wait some more if nothing works 4) try another host-site
Thanks, that's kinda what I'm doing now. I looked at some reviews and Free Image Host looks good, I'll give that a go. Seems quite slick and allows porn so ticks the boxes.
I'm using Free image host now, it works well and is okay with porn. I've learned the hard way to back up copies of the pics I want on my hard drive, so that if and when the site/s so down they are there ready to go back up. I use paint to edit them, which works very well.
Yep. Act as if everything you put online is both just about to disappear, and will stick around forever for everyone to see.
