So I've been bouncing around an idea for running a Post-Apocalypse RP series for awhile. It would essentially be an RPG where the players would try and survive while dealing with the harshness of the post-apocalypse.

I would keep track of food, water and equipment and the players would have to reach some sort of conclusion. It'll be dangerous and some probably won't survive(New character creation upon death would be fine though).

Of course, the other big question other than "Is anyone interested?" is "what apocalypse to do?"

there's a few choice and i've thought about them a bit and have come up with a few options:

Zombie Apocalypse - This is your standard "There was some kind of zombie virus and it led to the collapse of society" Players will start at the beginning of The Event and attempt to survive their way through it. For the sake of propriety, the zombies are for all intents and purposes dead and their bodies are reaction on muscle memory. There's no "They're acting solely on instinct" which would push them to the beastiality rule nor are they "sublevel intelligence, but still technically intelligent." They're not to be sympathized with. They're zombies.

Nuclear Apocalypse - Wars were fought and Nukes were dropped and rendered the Earth uninhabitable for many years. Players will start emerging from the bunkers that kept them safe and will enter a world full of hostile people and mutated beings. Some of them are simply monsters, but many are far more intelligent than they seem. It's all fun and games until that mutant wolf starts speaking english.

Zombie Apocalypse and a Nuclear Apocalypse - Essentially a combination of the two above. A Zombie plague invaded the many cities of the world leading to the powers of the world to drop nukes and render the world uninhabitable. Players will start emerging from the bunkers that kept them safe and will enter a world full of hostile people and mutated beings and still plenty of angry zombies.

The Rapture - The Bible was real. You didn't believe it yourself when The Faithful started to disappear in droves. It wasn't until the sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon turned bloodred while the stars fell from the sky. That the realization came. Players will start during The End Times and will have to survive in a world that has become a battleground for Angels and Demons alike. Monsters stalk the land and if you think that you can go to the Armies of Good and find help...Just remember that you have been deemed as one of The Unfaithful.

Maybe. I'm always for new forum games, but really can't say how much this sounds like it would be for me, personally.

My first issue is player characters being killed off is iffy to me. You put all that work in to making a nice character you like and having them killed off is kind of...and just generally...I don't really feel like death and sex make a good combination.

Secondly, I don't really see a lot of exceptionally interesting scenarios to make out of a zombie apocalypse thing. Like...post apocalypses don't really have an all so sexy vibe, though maybe a nuclear one with mutant creatures might have some interesting elements. I liked playing New Vegas and stuff, but Fallout and just the general nuclear wasteland setting doesn't typically give me a heavily sex appealing vibe.

The Rapture scenario has the most interesting aspects to me. Would we be playing humans exclusively in that case?

That's a fair opinion. If it's any consolation, then the deaths probably wouldn't be described in detail, but yeah I could definitely see how that might be a turn off.

Hmm, Maybe. My motivation is largely a different setting than the other RPG's that we've had so far rather than being all "I think the end of the world is sexy"

For the sake of it still feeling like a survival scenario, I would say that you would either be human or close to it. I wouldn't be against having players with lesser angelic or fiendish powers, but nothing compared to an actual Angel or Demon on its own.

Well, I'm always for new games that pop up, obviously. Just the angel one feels like the only one that really gives anything to work with, is all. There might be other kind of survival games to do, but I don't wanna start telling you what project I feel like you should do when you already have something you want to do. Just my issues are personally, I just don't see a lot that can be done with Fallout-esque settings.

If I did have something to suggest, I'll just say random things and maybe one of them might sound like a thing to be expanded on? You have your own project you want to do though, so just take these as me just saying things. Since you want to do a survival scenario maybe something like, I dunno:

Maybe like lesser demons competing in the underworld(Not in a pvp way necessarily, but trying to amass more power, but that might end up getting just kind of gratuitous.) Mostly low level ones trying to become greater ones.

There's a ship/plane wreck and modern people are washed up on an island. But not just any island. It's populated by mythological creatures. The vegetation is almost alien and bizarre and the island is a place full of monsters like chimeras, cyclops and other things that were thought to only be just stories.

Adventurer's quest into the demon lord's lair. That pretty simple one. Sexy bikini armored girls(Not necessarily just that) out to hunt the big bad. That simple and straightforward one, you get the idea. Might be room for some not too powerful non human characters in that too.

Also, if you're familiar with World of Darkness(If not, just check out my thread with all the info, I put so far), maybe something like Changelings. They're fairly powerful, but completely outclassed by the True Fae which are just the strongest beings in existence. The point of Changelings: The Lost is more about avoiding the True Fae than actually battling them. They aren't something really meant to be fought. Basically, The Lost is about humans who were taken to Arcadia and forcibly transformed into half-fae. When they escape back out of Arcadia, the transformation completes and they become Changelings. You have a massive variety of things, of just about any kind of character the player wants and it still fits under some Seeming(race), but you're powers are far from limitless, and in the way faes work they are limited by contracts and rules. There's a lot more to cover about it, but basically the idea is you are on the run from the Fairies so you aren't taken back to Arcadia. I've been interested in this setting for a while now, but I don't know if you'd want to do a game that doesn't feel like your own. Obviously, if you decided to go this route, you don't have to obey the rules by the book of things like Willpower and Glamour and all those concepts, unless you want to. I actually recommend making it easier for players to understand because it's super complicated to explain.

I don't know. I'm just trying to give ideas for settings that might have just a bit more appeal, if that's okay. I don't want to make you think I mean to hijack your project or anything.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be much interest on general. So thats fine ill just shelf the idea again and try again later. Maybe when there's not as many rpg's going on

I don't know if it's that so much as just the idea. Seems like you put a lot of work into it, so I don't wanna knock it. I think it would work fine for normal rpgs. Just not so much in a game with lewd.
