I just submitted a story for review and due to the concept of the story I switch POV's from closed 3rd to 1st. It is only when the MC writes in her diary. And it's usually where the chapter ends. So my question is how set in stone is the following rule? Point of View: The same point of view established in the previous chapters should be used in the following chapters. Also, for whoever's reviewing my story good luck, get a coffee first.
It is titled Guidelines (Recommendations) Those aren't rules. The rules are explained on the CHYOA Rules page. So there is no problem with what you plan. (Though some might even argue that you don't really switch POV that way.) If you mean that you're going to publish a lot of chapters (the whole story) at once, I would suggest not doing that. Stories that get regularly updated are more visible on the front page and usually attract more readers.
Thank you for replying. It's my first story on CHYOA, so I was a little nervous I wouldn't get approved because I wasn't adhering to that guideline. Chalking it up to me overthinking things, Mr.Friedman approved the story a few hours after I posted this, proving I'm a worry wart. I may have dropped a lot of chapters at once, but it is from a visual novel I am creating (It's a slow burn at the start). I wanted to see how people would respond to my writing without the imagery. Even though on CHYOA, I'm 58 chapters deep, in my visual novel, it's only chapter 2. Although that said, I will heed your advice and trickle in chapter 3 instead of dumping it all. Thanks again.
