No this isn't a dietary problem but in my story I have stone which ways about 100 kg (220 lbs) and I think I need to get 4 men to lift it and carry it to a horse drawn carriage - in addition the terrain is somewhat hilly. It almost feels like this would be too difficult to transport. Assuming it doesn't go through the carriage floor, there's surely a danger of it escaping by smashing a door as I guess it would have to lie flat on the floor and because of this it would be quite difficult to travel within the carriage. And how could it be secured? Why do I give myself such puzzles? Well I have had a suggestion that the stone could somehow be secured where a footman might stand at the back but that it would be better to hire a cart.
I'd imagine in the early 20th century, a hired cart would be the best option. Depending on the size and shape of the stone, it might have been secured with metal braces -- I know large ancient monuments too big for wooden crate like those from Egypt were transported that way from the harbor in London to the museum.
Thanks Yarkoz. It is the end of the 18th century but yes that is the solution, to return the next day with hired men and a cart. An unbelievably this solution has led to a couple of new chapters, a sexual encounter and a new character. This story has overtaken me.
