One of the problems I see sometimes is thread cloture where the author has over a dozen or so chapter to choose from but no real method to the madness. Typically it comes from an author coming up with new ideas after having started a story. What if the threads appeared in alphabetical order when added. If a reader visited the story twice he could be presented with a different set of choices then they had the first time reading it not to mention it be a whole lot more organized.
I would rather like the suggestion about letting story owner/editors rearrange the order of chapters. I think the later child chapters are more unlikely to be chosen, so authors could try to get on top. A Go left 1 Go left _ Go left __ Go left ______________________ Go left
