Imagine, that you inserted into a story... f.e. into star wars as Chancellor Palpatine, taking over the body of Chancellor in the eve of clone wars. After taking over the body of the Sith Lord, you decide to take a little different approach in taking over the power and becoming the emperor – but still, want to become one. Now here's the twist. Instead of the story being told from your point of view, it would be told from the perspective of characters who interact with you. Never through yours. So f.e. Alaya Secura would tell of her interactions with the chancellor and encounters with mysterious Sith Lord who slowly manages to turn her to the dark side. A female Senate Guard would be serving chancellor in more ways than one. Anakin 'recruiting' night-sisters, thinking that he was serving the republic... Here are few examples for other Self-insert stories: Game of Thrones – Cersei or King Joffrey Naruto – Tsunade, Madara, Naruto, Orochimaru Harry Potter – Harry Potter, Dumbledore DC Universe – Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman Marvel – Magneto, Professor X What do you think? Is there anybody who would be interested in co-writing/contributing to the story?
I think this is a great idea, but I'm not really the best fanfic author. (Considering I am an old school SW EU guy, without the opportunity to romance Mara Jade, I'm not interested. ) After my current story is done, maybe a Time Lord arc would be fun. (Dr Who) So, yes, I think this has potential, but no, I probably wouldn't participate.
An alternative take, would be an 'alternative history' type of story. How would the history look like, if the SI was f.e. Cleopatra, Napoleon, Franz Joseph I of Austria, etc.
Ok, now that reminds me a bit of S.M. Stirling's "After the Fire" series, as well as the one that I can't remember which had a self insert town time travel back to the heroic age. Also reminds me a bit of Harry Turtledove's "The Guns of The South" where radical separatists time traveled back to the civil war to give the south AK47s... That could be AWESOME as a Chyoa. Especially if the MC did the typical power trip, and we have the characters trying to react to an enemy who seems to know all of their plans. That honestly strikes me as more interesting, but it would have to be a VERY specific time frame to make it work properly. (Course, Now I'm thinking that Elizabethan Era would be awesome... I mean, who wouldn't want to nail Queen Bess?"
Me. In order to "nail Queen Bess," you would have to first marry Queen Bess, which would require you to be a King or Prince of a Christian* Nation. *(Preferably protestant.) Furthermore, by the time she was receptive to the idea of having a husband at all, she was already scarred and half bald from the stupid white lead makeup of the time, and I don't know enough about the cosmetics industry/chemistry to know how to make SAFE white makeup: let alone foundation, concealer, topcoat, and blush, all of which she'd need to look up to the standards of the time. So, all-in-all, nope: no banging Good Queen Bess for me. (Besides, Queen Elisabeth I dying without heirs is what finally united England and Scotland to form the UK, and I wouldn't want to mess that up...)
Gah! Spare me! I'm the kinda guy who stays with the same woman from the age of 20 to 28 and doesn't even think about cheating like EVER. I could never handle a woman I knew wouldn't be faithful, that's just a giant ten-foot high neon "No!" for me.
Story ideas: -Palpatine prepares Anakin for his interactions with Padme, by hiring a bunch of prostitutes and locking them with Anakin in one room. -Sidious makes Komari Vosa as new Sith Apprentice/sith assassin -Sidious corrupts/trains Dooku with a bunch of tasks involving sex -Palpatine creates 'Chancellor's guards' an all-female security detail. -Sidious becomes the mysterious 'Mandalore the hidden' -Sidious opens a new cult – an open sexual cult based on sexual domination and sexual freedom called Resurgent Sith. Just to troll the Jedi Any other ideas?
