You ever get into a story and about midway through you realize that you could have done something better or wish you had added something?

I did, I wanted to do too much and killed a story.
On my Ashcroft Legacy, story I wanted to try something simple: write a story with at least one picture in each chapter. It killed it, I got good ideas and then spent hours browsing for the perfect picture, while I thought the story would go fast it never got up and is now in the freezer. I'll maybe try to salvage it one day.

No-one forced me to do this but once I realize that I won't be able to follow my objective, I lost all motivation for this story.

As one of the biggest in-chapter picture users, sometimes you just have to settle for good, even if the picture isn't absolutely perfect. Remember, you can always go back and change something you don't like!

I'm having this exact problem with a half dozen story ideas that I started but couldn't get to the point of being publishable...
