The year is 4128 A.D. But the colony ships measure time a little differently. For them, it is 377 After Earth. The years of constant warfare took its toll on both the planet and the people. When it seemed like things were getting better, the Earth was invaded by an alien race called the Vrok'Tus. These aliens were fairly small, no longer than a grown man's arm. Their bodies looked similar to those of sting rays, but their "Wings" were a little flatter. On the underside of their bodies were a series of hooks to help hold on to their "Prey," and their tail had a sharp barb on it that was used to tap into the body of those they latched on to. These barbs allowed them to pump mutating agents into whatever or whoever they latch on to. This allowed them to turn normal humans into ferocious monsters. Governments panicked. People rioted. Corporations stepped up and defended the people and brought forth salvation when the Earth was pushed past its limits. Five colony ships were built: The EXODUS, the IMPERIOUS, the HOPE, The MAYFLOWER, and the ARCHITECT. These ships held the last remnants of humanity as they fled from the ruins of the Earth and the battles that the now useless governments still fought against the Vrok'Tus and their mutant hordes. Time passed. The five ships have gone separate ways, each looking for a new place to call home. It has been over a hundred years since the EXODUS last received a transmission from any of the other ships. They are truly on their own, and still fearing the Vrok'Tus catching them. But their people have a brave crew protecting and guiding them. This is their world, their story.

Wayland S129 was the team armorer, carrying extra ammunition and in charge of weapon upkeep when not on a mission. He carried an assault rifle and stayed near the middle of the formation. (Died on the scouting drop...) The "Twins" Romulus and Remus S222 and S223 respectively were both equip with medium range carbines and programmed for scouting and flanking enemies. They worked as a team, confounding and outmaneuvering enemies. Jingu S055 marched next to Lana, being the only other "Female" and armed with a submachine gun. Her beauty was only marred by a scar on her left cheek. And finally Robin S263 was at the back of the formation. He wore no armor, but carried a powerful sniper rifle. Rem, a woman who was the company medic. She had nano machines in her blood that she could control with her thoughts. She was able to make them replicate and enter someone else's body to help repair damage, but they only lasted about an hour after leaving her body. She had a better body than Diana, but was also larger and more muscular. She had a hard-light shield that she used for defense and a heavy Mark V pistol that most humans couldn't use due to its power. Nost. He was a big man who carried an ax and a carbine into battle. He had some of the biggest muscles and was one of the hardest hitters of the team. He was powerfully built and was known as the squad's "Charging Bull." Casval, the smallest member of the squad. He was the team's cyber expert and used an electro rod and sub machinegun in battle. He mostly kept to himself, but was always watching. Gregor, a square jawed man who was the team's armorer. He carried a shotgun and assault rifle both, as well as the extra ammunition for the team and tools for field repairs. Handler: A mysterious man who acts as the Planetary Scouts Handler. Gloria: Age: 19 Sex: Female A student at the Academy that has had a rough and troubled past. She had couceling at the Hospital and met Felix Brown a few years back and fell for him. How many people are onboard the Exodus when the game starts? Were the five ships meant to go their separate ways, or is it ominous that the Exodus finds itself alone?
The five ships have around 300,000 people split between them The plan was originally for them to stay together, but after about a hundred years of traveling together, it was decided they would split up to try and find a new home faster. The last transmission received from another ship was from the IMPERIOUS. That particular ship had fewer people than the others, but also housed a large bank of embryos and sperm frozen and ready to be used to give birth to almost a million humans.
I have a bit of a weird question, how do they know it's morning or night inside the Exodus? The ship is docked somewhere at the start or just cruising space?
Right now the ship is maintaining orbit over a small unnamed planet to perform a mining operations. Over 300 years into this journey, the ship has to stop from time to time to take in resources that they will need to keep the ship and people functioning. Like the question you had about pregnancy, they have to gather plants, metals, and anything else that can be fabricated into something useful. As for the day/night question, the ship basically runs on a 24 hour clock. Crews are in rotating shifts. No shop or restaurant on the ship is ever closed because there is always someone up doing something. Some areas have to have people there constantly, while other areas are able to function with just a single shift working it, such as the engineers or fabricators.
Explanation time! Here is the system I've come up with for NPC's. I'll give each of them a list showing their relationships to the players: Enemy: They hate you and will try to pull something on you. Indifferent: They know you, but don't have a problem with you. Like: This person actually likes you. Somehow you pulled off a friendship and they will be willing to help you out. Fuck Buddy: This person is willing to fuck you in their free time. Even if they player has feelings for the NPC, they don't quite feel the same way. For them it is mostly sex. This can change to Lover over time. Slave: This person is one of your personal slaves/harem members. They will do what you want, though they may not always like it. Their loyalty can sometimes be questionable, but they still seem to stick by you.... Lover: This person loves you. They are completely loyal and are a rock for you to lean on.
