Hey, there's this story (https://chyoa.com/chapter/Introduction.746058). It's an exact translation of my own old story (https://chyoa.com/story/Wer-zuletzt-kommt.26319), even some pics are the same. Only the names of the girls have been changed. He never DMed me to inform me about this, I don't have an issue with translations as long as they mention me, the original author. Is this something I can report or are translations without credits normal and fine?
I’d honestly report that. It’s about intent. They clearly didn’t intend to credit you and did intend to pass it off as their own story. While you might not have issues with translations, this is plagiarism if they’re passing it off as their own and they should have to face consequences for it. I agree, notifying @Friedman and informing the site moderators and admins of the issue is the best you can do as well as verifying you are in fact, the original author.
It doesn't matter if it is a translation or not. If an author's content is too close to another author's original content, it violates the Plagiarism rule. E.g. - a copied paragraph (a single sentence might be fine) - a modified copied paragraph - retelling someone else's story (writing a story with a roughly similar concept is fine) Informing the original author or mentioning the original author is not enough to satisfy the Plagiarism rule. The original author has created the content and thus they have the copyright of it. Then they could allow others the exercise parts of their copyright with or without requirements. E.g. - reuse with attribution - public domain I.e. an author needs the permission of the copyright owner (usually the original author) to republish their content.
