I recently looked at a story with too many starting choices. The original author asked either male of female. Some people actually followed the rules, but now there is an entire list of character names of both sexes right underneath the first two. Now there is an incredibly long list of character names, both male and female, clogging the storyboard with no way to collapse it. If the story creator had a way to limit the choices to three: male, female, and transgender, searching The storyboard would be far easier.
Though this suggestion is harmless, I don't think it would be particularly useful. The problem you propose could be resolved by switching the story to Moderated. That way, if anyone tries to add chapters in the wrong places, the story owner can remove them. I understand it might be slightly annoying for a story owner to have to approve chapters, but you can just accept everything except chapters posted in the wrong spots and not bother with quality control. Also, regular contributors can be added as authors.
