I was wondering how to go back to edit / set the overall story tags and synopsis, as opposed to the specific thread tags. I didn't set any tags when I first started a recent story and now I have a better idea what tags to use. Is this possible or not?

    And the

    Thanks!

I thought the story cover tags were comprised of the tags seen throughout the various threads of a story. That way readers can get an idea of the "weight" of each tag for a particular story. If a story is a whopping five threads long, and only one of those threads includes a heterosexual pairing, then you'd get a story with a heterosexual "weight" of one. At least, that's how I thought it worked.

So far, none of the tags I used on the threads are showing up in searches. I've read somewhere that it takes time for them to show up in the search, but I figure about a week is long enough right? Still not showing up.

That's why I wanted to go ahead and add tags to the overall story and edit the synopsis to give more info. Thread tags apparently don't do anything at this moment.

I would think that weighting as you described is the best way for them to be ranked. But can't see that in effect at the moment.

I would also like to be able to see what threads have what tags in the story map... but that may be asking for too much.

I recall reading elsewhere on this forum that only tags that were early on in the alphabet were being represented on Chyoa's front page. Perhaps this is related? I know it's not a solution by far, but have you tried tags which are early on in the alphabet? I just tried searching for "exposition" and for results I got stories which include my expository threads.

Actually, I'm not sure this is the case, as "reptile" got me one of my stories with such a thread as well. Hrm. But these threads are all quite old, so maybe this is a time-sensitive symptom.

The early letter theory can't be it. "B" is the first letter of one tag I used.

Thanks for looking into this for me. Yes, I tried tagging some of those threads, multiple times/days even. I hit save after I tagged them but still they don't show up in the search results when I try to search just by the tags I used. Nor do the tags I used show up in the "Story Cover" page under the "Tags" section. I'm confused as to what I'm doing wrong.

Alright. What I know is that your tags don't end up in the database. Thus, there is a problem on the client side. When you enter tags, you must confirm each tag with the enter/return key. Did you also do that?

AH! Thanks ever so much! I just thought you could type them, separate by comma and then save.

Now, is there a way the synopsis can be edited after the story has been created or is that pretty much stuck from day 1?

on the "manage stories"-page there is a edit link for each story on the right side. There you can edit all story details (Title, Subtitle, Synopsis, ...)
