I'm not sure how often it would be useful, but in my instance I want my character to stutter as he says another characters name, so it would be nice to be able to get just the first letter of her name. For example: "L-L-L-Lauren" done with < {name1}[1,1]-{name1}[1,1]-{name1}[1,1]-{name1}[1,1]-{name1} >. {name1}[1,3] would result in 'Lau' in the above example.
