Idea of going to a random story is fun by itself but with the current implementation the chances are that you will get some seven year old story with two threads in it. How about giving a user a chance to exclude stories by some parameters? Do not show stories with less than X threads or less than X views and other stuff like that. Some good defaults will make the option interesting for unregistered\new users
