I found this on a site awhile back and thought this was a cool idea which could make tags a lot more useful and organized. http://storiesonline.net/library/categories.php Essentially it would be one giant list of tags that one could click on the reader that interest them and then hit enter and see what stories have those tags.
You mean predefined, categorized story tags, chosen by the story owner? (while the current tags are rather chapter tags)
Yeah something like the lit system would be good. Since with a lot of tags you end up with duplicates with slightly different spelling or formatting. For example you have Creampie and Cream pie, some people use the former and others the latter. I don't think there should be a standardised list you have to use but at least it would be nice to be able to to see "Oh this spelling is the most commonly used one" or hell even have access to the data on the tags that are the most searched so you could use the spellings people are looking for.
