Character creation sheet: Take note when creating a character. There is a second world – a net, in which the hackers thrive. Think of something like a merge between Matrix and Tron. Picture (optional): Name: Age: Occupation (look for inspiration here – if you don’t have one): Equipment: (weapon, vehicles, home/flat, bank account savings) Looks (if there is no picture, or description different from picture): Ethnic roots: History: Family and family status (Optional): (living family members, and what is happening with them, also what is their opinion of character): Friends and Enemies (optional): (Through life, your character has made some mortal enemies and friends for life) Past and present romantic interests (optional) (your character loved – and maybe still has one true love, maybe it character has broken with his/her love, or maybe character had a couple of one night stands, maybe there were a couple of partners or maybe it is an Ex): Big problems and big advantages (optional) (Maybe character won money on the lottery, maybe he has loan sharks after him, or a bomb near his bran, as a part of the contract) - needs GM acceptation. Dark secrets(optional)(maybe the character is responsible for the murder, is being blackmailed): Long time targets and motivation(optional)(what makes your character tick. Money? A crusade against injustice? Vengeance against the killer of loved ones?): Skills: Five points to distribute. One skill means the character is skilled, two that character is a master in skill. Cybernetics: Cybernetics the character has installed – they can come in anything you come up with. From fashion ones, like different skin colour, up to full body replacement, leaving the only brain as a biological part of the body. All cyborgs have basic ports at the back of the neck, that allows them to connect to devices, ports, vehicles, other cyborg’s brains etc. But specialistic equipment and programming is necessary for hackers and cyberwarfare. Cyber Illness: With each cybernetic, the person has installed, the person becomes less human. To cope with it, the brain develops ticks and needs for stimulation. Need to wear less clothes or more sexy clothes – often both, to have more sex, need for bondage sex, development of fetishes. If the person is not careful and doesn’t develop enough ticks to satisfied mind, he or she can end up as a brain in a tube, in an asylum, connected for the rest of life to stimulation inductor. For each cybernetic, introduce a ‘tick’ to counter it. Or not, and be prepared to pay the price, when your brain starts rebelling. Forbidden: Information for GM and other players, about the activities the character's owner does not wish for his/her character to take part in.
Name: Jack Matsubara/Sietch Age: 20 Job: Freelance Netrunner Equipment: Semi automatic pistol, netrunner's rig, 5000 credits, motorcycle Ethnic Roots: (Up to Auraicide) Background: "I can break any system, if you've got the credits to pay for it." Son to the legendary reporter, Gina Matsubara, Jack is, to his mother and friends, just a regular college student and nerd. However, unbeknownst to most people, Jack is living a double life. Dropping out of college, he began using his immense skill with computers to become a netrunner known as Sietch, named after a cool word he'd read in some old sci-fi book he read once. Sietch has been the hacker on multiple jobs, working with professional criminals (and occasionally corpo execs) in a number of jobs including but not limited to: armed robbery, assassinations and corporate espionage. As his skills increase, he begins to look towards his milf mother, and the things that his skills could accomplish with her... Family: Gina Matsubara - Mother. (Maybe more, depending on what Auraicide decides.) Friends and enemies: Jack is charismatic enough to have befriended most people he knew throughout his schooling and subsequent career as a runner, but he has a reluctance to get close with people, making close friendships a rare occurrence for him. He has started talking often, however, with a female netrunner named Cypher. Though at first they were simply acquaintances working together on various runner jobs, he's started to find that he quite enjoys chatting with Cypher over the net. At present, he hasn't met her yet, and they only know each other through code names. Jack has earned the ire of a violent gang leader called Cyclops, operating in the slums. Cyclops tried to double cross Jack after a successful heist, only to find out that Jack had anticipated this and sabotaged the man's cybernetics. The explosion he caused destroyed Cyclops' precious organic eye, for which he was named, and now Cyclops has sworn vengeance, desperately trying to discover Jack's identity. Problems and Advantages: Living a double life, pretending to be a college student when in reality he's a netrunner, can be difficult, especially when you live with your mother. Jack has to keep up his cover and make sure he never slips up and reveals what he really is. Cybernetics: Jack has installed a top of the line netrunner's interface to allow him to access the net and hack into various systems from a distance Cyber Illness: Jack's use of cybernetics has left him with a distinct desire to commit incest with his mother. His sense of morality seems surpressed or dulled when dealing with that urge specifically, making him likely to unwholesome acts to see his fetish become a reality. Skills: Computers x2 Manipulation x1 Charm x1 Guns x1 Forbidden: Scat, gore, vore, watersports (probably more that I'll add in later.) [All right, how is that? I wasn't really sure how much I could add in for equipment. Tell me if I need to make any changes.]
Name: Gina Matsubara Occupation: Journalist Spoiler: Image gallery Ethnic roots: East Asian History: "Gina Mastsubra, reporting!" Words almost everyone in the city knows, as well as the image of her face. An investigative reporter not afraid of doing some legwork. Kingpins, corrupt cops, politicians embezzling tax dollars, she's been seen covering so many stories, she's something of a local celebrity. Unfortunately, the fact she's often needing to work or busy chasing leads means she doesn't get as much time with her kids as she likes. She's also a cyborg. Having plenty of advantages over most people, they're incredibly useful in the day to day life and due to her work paying rather well, she's been outfitted with ones above your average stock parts. They have plenty of uses, but most of hers are designed in such a way they wouldn't look readily obvious and be off putting for viewers. But her machine parts still work, and effectively. Family and family status (Optional): Jack Matsubara(Son) Jace Hansen(Husband, took his wife's name actually): No real thoughts for him right now. Spoiler: June Matsubara(Sister) OR Works a decent office job in the corporate sector. Fairly well off and attractive, she jumps from boyfriend to boyfriend, never holding onto them for too long. Single, but looking. She doesn't feel desperate however, and is mostly happy with her freedom other than it conflicts with her urge to settle down and start a family soon while she's still young enough. A good natured person, but isn't shy about getting what she wants. The business sector also pays well enough she can afford some high end cybernetics like her sister as well. (Possibly debating adding a daughter) Friends and Enemies (optional): Spoiler: (Friend) Page Friends since they were young and having remained friends since they both got married and settled families down of their own, they consider each other practically family. Enemies: She has a fair share of people who would rather see her career come to an end sooner than later. Having picked up a rivalry between another journalists(Not sure the details on them yet. Surprise me?), they want to be the ones to get their names on things and be famous for covering the big stories. Other than the typical gangs, corrupt politicians and cops who really would prefer the woman suffering some unfortunate accident to get them out of their way, Nathan Byrne, a famous in a bad way movie star, blames her for ruining his reputation(It was never all that upstanding to begin with.) and plans to see her humiliated with her own reputation sunk as a form of revenge against the woman he (wrongly) believes turned the public against him and making his name so tainted that he's left scrounging for whatever roles will still have him. He still has his fans, but for every supporter, you only need to search his name up to find many, many memes about how he's a complete lowlife who doesn't think about anyone other than himself. Problems and Advantages: Her investigations lead her to being a popular figure who word is there's even talk of her getting her own show. But with the more you have, the more there is to lose and there's a number of people who don't want her to be met with success and will use virtually any means to see that happen if they think it means they'll save themselves. Not to mention, the occasional stalker and having people know your name isn't everything it's built up to be. Naturally, her press pass gets her into lot's of places and she has contacts with plenty of influential city wide people. Skills: General Knowledge Stealth Computers Charm 2 Spoiler: Cybernetics Cybernetics: Sensory Eyes: Records things, picks up heat signatures, can be utilized as cameras and take video, they're incredibly practically to have for investigation. Mechanical Arm(Right): Durable without being obvious on first glance and capable of lifting things that she'd struggle with human muscles to do normally, it also incorporates a few general tools as well as a knife for emergencies, though it's intended to be used mostly as a tool rather than a weapon. Optimized cardiovascular system: Makes it much harder for her to become exhausted or wear out like a normal person would, though it's still possible, generally as a unconscious part of her brain. She can run for almost hours on end and doesn't struggle with oxygen(Though she still can't survive the pressure of something like space.) She can still end up with sore muscles and needs to sleep like anyone else. The system can be adjusted to make her suffer a normal person's exhaustion, but she has no reason to ever adjust it to do that herself. Neural Brain Implant: Allows her to retrieve information quickly and fast, as well as upload things like her recordings to the internet. Being able to remember a lot of stuff that she otherwise wouldn't and access the online world on a moment's notice as needed. Alloyed Skeleton: Much of her skeletal structure is replaced with a mix of machinery that makes her bones and body much more solid than a normal person. This makes her capable of withstanding much more punishment than a normal person would be capable of surviving. However, her biological tissue can still be damaged as easily as a regular person and she isn't really eager on going out of her way to see how much she can actually take. (Maybe one more thing? I don't know what.) Spoiler: Cyber Illness Cyber Illness: Sex toy fascination A interest in filming or recording her more overt actions while they happen. Loves attention to her (Still real) breasts. Perhaps both because of her high end life style and her high end body, but she's developed a fascination with what goes against that in, in vulgar looking guys to the point of having an weird attraction to the idea of things like vagrants and homeless men trying to defile her upscale body. Seems to have developed an interest with wearing underwear and lingerie to show off her still natural and good body parts. Equipment: Cash - 120,000(Savings) Flat Spoiler: Car Forbidden(Always subject to change, so I can't say. I'll just put the stuff I definitely won't do.): Gore, Death, Vore, Scat, Feet, Vomit. Also worth noting, while I like my characters being treated like shit, I'm not crazy about having my character subject other people to being treated like shit. So that's where I am so far.
Neck ports: Trivia: Sietch actually has its roots with Ukrainian Cossacks. If I remember correctly, it means 'Fortress' or 'camp' but I might be wrong. It's been a while since I had that history lesson. Mostly, looks good, but few things need to be clarified: What does 'manipulation' skill mean? Is it like this: Measures your character's ability to exploit people and events? Guns - one-handed fire weapons - small arms, but excluding rifles? Equipment... 5000 credits... let's say that the average monthly income of low-class citizen is 3000 credits. 5000 would be from hacking? The netrunner's rig - is it small mobile one - for amateurs and to stay mobile, to make yourself harder to locate, but also, far more... primitive, easier to defeat and have your brain fried. Or a stocky immobile one. Basically a big chair with a bunch of equipment, panels in front and googles. Far more elaborate, and expensive. Then, there are programs your character would use. Homemade, bought on the market, pirate ones - he will not have access to military staff. If you could describe it... From friends - only one with more meaning would be Cypher, yes? But not as a friend, more like acquaintance? Or partner in crime? Cybernetics - netrunner platform + distance (up to 5 meters?) connection. Looks good. Cyber illness - you do realise that: "to see her in various sexy situations" + "sense of morality seems suppressed" might actually put his mother in rather compromising situations? The rest looks good.
I mean manipulation as in specifically lying to people. Guns should be more specific, yeah. He has a pistol, so it'd be skill with pistols. The money comes from his criminal lifestyle, yeah. I wasn't sure how much to give him. He'd probably have a small rig, as for programs, a mix of homemade and market stuff. I'll write more detail later. Cypher, I think, is an acquaintance who's quickly on her way to becoming a friend. The 'see her in sexy situations' line was from Auraicide, when they were planning the son character to be an npc. I've gotten rid of it because I'm not really into cuck/voyeur fetishes. With his lack of morality, he specifically won't do anything that would result in his mother getting physically harmed, or destroying her life. After all, he just wants to have sex with her, he doesn't bear her ill will. If someone tried to harm Gina, Jack would move to destroy them.
Well, yeah. I dislike cucking too. I kind of meant it similar to that. Cucking is just...so freaking depressing to me. I actually like cheating stories but cucking is just...yeah, really not for it. I'm not super crazy about voyuer either, but mostly just indifferent. I don't find it interesting, I won't say no to it either.
Looks good. Few things: Equipment - maybe flat and cash? Car? I would suggest an advantage: contacts with celebrities/city's influential people. But it's your call. Cyber arm - lifting, it would require entire arm mechanical and some strengthened back... But it's acceptable. Tool - like with storage compartment, or it somehow shapeshifts? Is it visibly mechanical or is it made to look natural? Skills: Academics - like general knowledge in Basics of most of subjects. Computers - so light hacking skills? The rest looks pretty good.
Okay, a flat and a vehicle, but I really don't know what kind of car with the future and all and how much cash she might have. All of her cybernetics are meant to look mostly naturally, but the knife comes out from the wrist area so if she has to use stuff like that, it's pretty obviously mechanical. But for the most part, it's more or less looking and feeling like a normal arm. So a strengthened spine would be it's own thing then? Yeah, academics would be like general knowledge for subjects, but if it doesn't work, I'll pick something else. And basically what I mean for computers.
Just write 'futuristic car' in google and choose one. Cars don't fly in this era, but Ospreys are popular among rich, corporations and government. Cash - between 5000 and 200 000 of savings. Upper middle class. So a high class cybernetic. Strengthen arm would still be considered a weapon - for punching and squeezing throats. The arm can be strong, and do the majority of lifting, but only as far as the rest of body cooperates. You cannot lift a car without strengthening of the rest of the body - the biological elements will not take it that far... Yeah, I tested it recently and still am feeling it in my back Maybe instead of academics - call it general knowledge - it would cover it. Computers, basic usage and the search engine would not require a skill.
@Auraicide @Tjf It looks good so far. One thing Auraicide - the amount of cash available for your character would be dependable on if she is a freelancer or corporate worker. A corporation would give her more cash and sometimes even support in equipment and manpower - but would also limit some of her articles and order some articles. Freelancing would leave her far poorer, but free - but also without the protection of a corporation.
I wasn't really intending for anything like to the degree of car lifting(Though she can probably just use it to break a few small objects, so it's probably fine then. Still thinking of adding one more thing to cybernetics, but I don't know what. Updated, though it's surprisingly hard to find future car designs that don't look just tacky. For skills, I changed it to general knowledge and I do mean she has some hacking ability. Not to Jack's ability, but she can still get into places and since she's partially machine herself, she's just naturally good with them. At least enough that she can function at doing it to get into things, just fine. She's skilled at it, but not an expert. Tough call on corporate or freelance. I guess may as well do corporate unless @Tjf has any preferences on what ones to do. If she gets frustrated, she might try striking out by herself anyway.
Link Name: Eva Sonnen / Jackalope, aka Bunny Age: 20 Occupation: Student-Athlete/Gun-for-Hire Equipment: Pair of high caliber handguns and ammunition; Motorcycle; Alpha Omega Sorority Dorm Room; 1,000 + 50,000 (hidden) Credits Ethnic roots: German-Chinese History: "In and out, ice a few people guns blazing, and back just in time to study for finals. Sounds like fun!" Her family was comfortable enough that Eva never felt the pinch of money, but due to the nature of her parents' work, she has been left to her devices for most of her life with no one to truly care for her. She lived in drab and grey corporate housing and moved constantly during her first few years, adding to the girl's ennui and made her somewhat maladjusted. In school, she was never exactly the model student but found her niche in gymnastics to the point of being offered a scholarship for a nice university after placing high enough in a few competitions. Back home and in her early teens, she had struck up a friendship with a cop after getting into some gang-related trouble. He offered her a better outlet for her more destructive impulses and taught her to fire a gun and about martial arts. It was meant to learn responsibility, although she mostly learned how to fight. The gang she had belonged to held a grudge, wrecking the place they frequented and got into fights. Her cop uncle never really escalated or retaliated, and unable to rise up to that standard, the impulsive and vengeful Eva took it into her own hands. Visting the punk's hideout and firing a few carefully directed bullets into her former gang member's skulls before leaving for university. She enjoyed the thrill of it and not as worried that she didn't actually feel any remorse, so much so she planned for more excursions as she left for university. Reeves and her brief stint in the gang had given her enough hints that she knew where to send out feelers for contracts, and who could help set up an alternate identity. Normal college students' ideas of part-time work are working as a barista. For Sonnen, it was as a contracted killer, occasionally a bodyguard, and once as a eye-candy/protection at a corporate event. She chose her own work, preferring those that met her own arbitrary moral standards which meant a fair deal of it was inter-gang related violence. Didn't mind what she saw as shooting up criminals and bad guys, and for Eva those activities filled a void that might otherwise been taken up by drugs or gambling. Probably would've been better if she had. She is under no illusion that she isn't some kind of vigilante or hero. Due to the nature of her work, she has transitioned to do most of her non-physical studies remotely, participating in virtual classes while hooked up to the university's net on her own time, and only arriving in person when necessary. She's an elusive sight on campus outside her sorority. Family and family status: Both her mother and father are lawyers specializing in corporate and international trade law. They met when their respective firms negotiated a contract between themselves around two decades ago, taking the opportunity as easily forgettable junior aides to sneak away for sex. They haven't been home much, less so at the same time for any longer periods, so Eva spent most of her days alone. Also practically meant they had no time for physical intimacy, so she's an only child. Friends and Enemies: Detective John Reeves, cool cop uncle. A cop that has spent most of his middle-aged life on the beat with the scars to prove it. Believes in making connections with the locals, he frequents the stores and cafes of the places he patrols and runs a dojo for troubled youths like Eva with some other people in his spare time. Doesn't have a family of his own, but clams up on that topic, so no one knows for certain. Enjoys treating Eva as he would've his own daughter, likely made him overlook some of her indiscretions. Nothing sexual on either side or that any have admitted to. At the university, she's part of the gymnastic team, making most of her friends amongst the men and women there. Coach Alexandrova is a former Russian gymnast and she leads the team with a metaphorical bullwhip hanging over everyone. She has taken aside a few of her students for personal lessons, but has as of yet to approach Eva. Her sorority sisters are a party happy bunch, not the large parties inviting everyone with a pulse but plenty enough of alcohol, more the kind of in-house movie and game nights, making everyone feel close and connected. Sonnen has made few enemies so far, contract killing is a dirty and often personal business for at least one side. She failed a hit on a pair of punk biker gang twins that lead the Neon Marauders. The brother and sister duo has vowed vengeance against their would-be assassin for still killing several of their members. To add insult to injury, her current motorcycle is one she stole from them in the getaway. Past and present romantic interests: A heavily cyberized domme that frequents the fetish club Sade Garden has been introducing Sonnen to the BDSM scene, and she has become one of the woman's latex and leather-clad submissives. The woman is an engineering head at a cybernetics company, one surrounded by scandals and ties of a criminal nature but nothing that has been proven. It's not what you'd consider a normal relationship, but closest to anything steady she has had. Big problems and big advantages: Her cybernetic hardware is expansive and beyond what could normally be expected for someone like Eva. The loan is partly subsidized by the university as she is one of their athletes. It's still a significant financial burden, but not unmanageable as long as she's enrolled. Dark secrets: She is responsible for multiple murders, some of which her alias is directly connected too even if her true identity hasn't been uncovered. Skills: Acrobatics (Mastery) Small Arms Martial Arts Driving Cybernetics: Much of the fibers and filaments of muscle inside of Eva's body has been replaced by alloyed titanium wires and electric components, though in return she operates at a high level of physical capability. Her skeleton has received reinforcements to compensate for this increase. Her eyes and ears have undergone a less dramatic enhancement, adding new cybernetic sensory nerves that feeds information to an implant in the brain to process the information and increase her reaction times and balance when activated along with the fidelity of senses. Like all cyborgs, she has an access port in the back of her neck. Cyber Illness: Her cybernetic muscles produce an excessive amount of heat and because they are in constant use Eva is required to wear less insulated clothes to prevent build-up. She has developed a psychological need for skinship and intimacy, enjoying the stimulation of having cooler skin against hers. In contrast with her enhanced nerves, she has found enjoyment of having the two senses deprived from her, particularly in conjunction with sex. Being so reliant on cybernetics to function, she both fears a malfunction that would leave her paralyzed and is excited by the idea of being physically restrained and naturally gravitated toward bondage. Forbidden: Watersports, Scat, Dog-related pet play. @Tjf Any kind of prior relationship between our characters? Some kind of mutual contact? A slightly closer working relationship?
I'm happy for our characters to know each other. Maybe they knew each other in passing from school, only to find out that they had both been hired for the same job, and have been working together now and then since then.
For money - let's say normal allowance would allow saving up to 1000 credits. The other job would allow additional savings up to 50 000 credits. skills - gun kata would require division in skill. One would be guns/small arms. Other would-be either martial arts, that would allow far better ability in close quarters - or acrobatics, that would allow better to stay mobile. Or both of them which would allow both bonuses. It looks good so far.
Added reinforced sceleton, yes? And illness in form of interest in younger men? That's okay. You still will be able to buy cybernetics in game. Finshed for now? Or do you want to modify the character according to new characters added by other players?
Agree. Think it's easier if both know each other's civilian identities and may have had some passing interactions outside of a work environment, and occasionally hooking up and sub-contacting the other when the work calls for it. Could've helped her set up her Jackalope related accounts, ensuring it's secure and difficult to trace to her. Made some changes. Added an enemies for her, the Neon Marauder biker gang. Fixed the skills and money. May add some details here and there to the side characters and background, but not any major changes.
Oof. I just edited the illness to an interest in wearing sexy underwear since I just remembered that was initially what I was thinking before I forgot it. If that still works though, then I'm done. And no, it's not really related to new players joining. I was debating earlier if I should have one more slot and I just added that now with the skeleton. She doesn't really have any offensive skills, so she'll have to get by being sort of made of metal. If that all works, I'm done with editing. Also, just because it isn't a cyber illness, doesn't mean she can't have a thing for younger guys anyway
