Basically gullible and vunerable humans are exposed to the alien environment for study so theres no limit to what creatures they can encounter and be subject to as far as anyone adding their own chapters is concerned. Think this is a good idea? Also i was thinking of making it open instead of moderated, is that a smart move to get more contributors or does that hurt the quality control aspect?
I would suggest to set it to "moderated". I don't think that anyone, who is serious about contributing to a story, will be put off by it, as long as you log in regularly and approve the chapters that meet your standards. If you set it to open instead, there is always the danger of getting subpar additions that you don't really want.
Trust me. Moderate it. I tried making my story open and it did not end well. Like dingsdongs said as long as you regularly approve you're good. And if you're not Friedman has a thread dedicated to approving chapters for authors who might be on break.
