The new Chyoo site strikes me as an impressive undertaking, and I feel no surprise that its numerous adjustments and improvements are still on-going. What with this new, dedicated forum, I feel amazed that the staff responsible for this achievement has any time to themselves. Thank you for providing this outlet to our creative impulses. Should we begin a new thread on the Chyoo forum to take over from the Literotica forum's thread? The issues of emigrating contributors and established dialogue aside, I think that the user base is naturally curious on the the development of the site proper. At this time, I must state that I don't wish to sacrifice the staff's free time or sanity on middling military-style reports that would impugn upon their ultimate success. That's all a bit too much bureaucracy for designing a website, isn't it? What I'm really proposing is that we can submit our ideas in a more coherent fashion than lumping them all into a single forum thread, and that if any major changes are made, we can be certain of what the current official designation is on a feature's progress. So, for example, as can know if some feature such as "Firefox Support for Site Themes" is Accepted (but queued), Denied, In Progress, or Completed. I certainly hope this would not be too much of a demand, because I don't see how we can keep moving forward if we're too busy re-tying our shoes every step of the way, so I'd very much like to avoid loosening them for you.
Yeah, good idea. Personally, I'd stick two threads here (in this section) - suggestions (like this one) - bugs
That sounds like a good division, but my other impression was that having a long thread mentioning every single suggestion or bug would become bloated over time, making it difficult to root out, sift through, and generally trawl through post after post (even when using a search function these tasks can become time-consuming) to glean through a specific error. I was considering that if we start separate threads for each suggestion or bug, they can be better organized. Of course, it can be difficult getting all the participants to play along, particularly with tagging forum topics with phrases like [SUGGESTION] and [BUG] and then having them append the suggestion's status themselves when things progress. Hm.
This is a good idea as it will bring more transparency into the development process. Since I look through each thread anyway, I can label them with [SUGGESTION] or [BUG] afterwards, if it hasn't been done yet. In addition, it is advisable to list the individual suggestions and bugs in the main post of a sticky thread. I also had been thinking about using a software like uservoice, but wasn't convinced by the idea, since it would mean to introduce another platform besides the forum and the site.
A small improvement: The views are calculated from now on for all stories four times a day (instead of once a day for the latest stories and once a week for all stories).
Awesome. That was much needed (maybe in the future would be cool to have a way to sort them out with the story the belong to)
