The Temptress is a story I'm working (it's set to private for the foreseeable future). It splits off between the perspectives of the male protagonist, Ryan Carter, and the succubus, Marlissa. Presently I've been concentrating on Ryan's paths. I appreciate any feedback, compliments, and suggestions here since it's hard for me to know which thread has any new comments (the current comment system in place has no notifications).
I enjoy the story quite a lot and have read and rated it highly on and off both on Chyoa and the old site. One comment I do have is that it's a bit hard to keep track of when there's actually new content posted, rather than the same thread in a different place. That's why I haven't kept up to date on it.
I had to split off the threads depending if Ryan had tormented Marlissa or not, so I could mention a callback of it. Thus, there's a bit of repetition of threads at times.
Well, it does become quite overwhelming and hard to keep track off when there's for instance four threads called "A police car pulls over" and all of them contain the same content. I suppose you do it because you want to give the reader options, but I don't think it accomplishes that. Especially not when there's not an option to mark all threads as read on the story map.
Yeah, it does get confusing for me sometimes when I trying to update it the story map. But again I split them off because of the torment or no torment criteria.
Then why include it if it doesn't have any impact on what happens after it? Whether Ryan torments her or not, the story seems exactly the same after that, only with double the amount of threads to keep track of.
Yeah, it was something I thought I could make more significant when I was planning it but in hindsight it was something that got really messy.
Have you considered dropping development on one of them for now and going back to it later when you have more time to differentiate it?
