So, this is NOT the place to ask the mods to approve your new chapters, that's in CHYOA General.

What this IS, is the place to ask your fellow authors what you should do about chapters that you are waffling on if you should approve or deny them For one reason or another or that the author keeps submitting for approval but somehow falling short...

    To start with:

    https://chyoa.com/chapter/"That-is-pervert%21".310737

I denied that chapter in accordance with the rules of the story, but I'm not sure I should have, what's people's take?

I'm of the general opinion that unless a chapter is utter shit or simply doesn't have an understanding of what has happened previously in the story, I just approve it.

It may not be to your taste and quality, but it may satisfy a reader out there. It almost surely will. Not everyone is all that discerning. And those that are can backclick out.

If you're willing to accept random submissions at all on a thread, from non-specific users that you're not otherwise in communication with (which is a the best way to go if you're after a tight story), then I say the more the merrier.

    Just my opinion.

I do have straight line narratives where I wouldn't accept any random submissions. But for those I'm not so possessive over, its not a big deal.

    To me.

I'm having trouble viewing the chapter itself by the way, so I'm not sure of your specific issue. I also can't tell what story it goes to so I'm not sure what 'rules' are being broken.

Is there any way to communicate to the author what changes might be made to conform to 'the rules of the story'?

Damn, I can see where the link is breaking, and I don't think anyone can read it but me...

Basically this is from the sex chat story which has been spending a bunch of time on the front page lately, but the author didn't reply to all the comments on the previous chapter, which he is supposed to do...

I've denied contributors for just bad grammar/spelling and asked them to fix it before resubmitting. There were other's who didn't stick to the story's 1st/3rd person perspective or past tense.

I'll reject or rewrite a thread that wanders off the premise of the story or characters. If the problem is tense, spelling or usage, I'll edit/rewrite.

If the contributor has firm contrary ideas, I'm happy for them to start a new story of their own.

For your contributor: stick with the premise of the story. If you think it's almost there, you could write in the missing replies to keep it consistent, or point out "You need to reply to comments X and Y."
