Hi i just want to say that i wish the way threads of chapters are sorted these days in the story maps is a n huge downgrade over how it used to be. now it is extremly hard and annoying to naviage to find the part you are looking for with the style it has now of each chapter in a thread being below the previous but with an tab press so they make an staircase type look downwards. this is very bad for navigation on pc and even worse for mobile. when i first joined chyoa the way chapters in a thread was sorted displayed in story map was super navigable and easy to go through trying to find the chapter you were looking for.
You could create a suggestion about it in the Suggestion Subforum and describe how you would like it. There are already some suggestions about the story map - Graphical Flow chart of storymap - Chapters only indent for branches There were also threads about it - Feature Request: Collapse Left - [Suggestion] Possible improvement for story maps which aren't present in the Suggestion Subforum yet To make browsing of wide story maps easier, you could try to hold SHIFT while using the mouse wheel. On some (all?) browsers this results in horizontal scrolling.
ok thanks for the suggestion will look into those. i am just confused why they went away from the old one which was really easily navigable in its style.
How did it look like before? I can't remember any other style and on the old site, it was even wider. (though the lines were smaller in height)
the previous sorting style on this new site i was never on the old one. but on the old sorting system chapters in one thread was straight below each other and it was only intended for new options and then it was less than it is now.
I don't like that as it is pretty inconsistent. You could end up with a chapter with depth 50 appearing in "column" 3 while a chapter with depth 10 appears in "column" 10. I'd rather go for variable indentation which depends on chapter depth as mentioned in the other thread.
