Hi I spent the last weeks knitting a spiderweb of chapters on a new story. First attempt at game mode and it sure is harder than to just churn out chapters. The story without spoilers beyond the first chapter and description, is about a mage descended (far removed) from a God of Chaos and Mischief. Expelled from the Academy he goes on a trip that will end with him becoming a typical Lord of darkness (overlord/sauron...). The original title was crappy and was scratched for "Dark lord's rising ". With publication getting closer I'm less sure about the title. An other point is, should I add [GAME] after the title whichever title I choose? I Need a few more day to get it good enough to go live and I'll check the results of the poll before deciding.
Yes, add [Game] and my Suggestion is Dark Lord Rising with first letters capitalized as it's going to be a proper noun, like the title of a book.
I considered it but I wasn't sure if it was grammatically correct, some subtleties that are sometimes lost on non native English speakers like me. The more I think about it, the more I am sure I'll add the [GAME], I gave up hope on making the story readable or coherent for those that don't use game mode. It would double my work.
I support Nemo's suggestion about a title. And good idea about the [Game] tag - I think I'll use it for my Game story.
It is now one of the choices on the poll and you can change your vote to it if you want. It's tied for me with the first choice, I liked the alliteration in it.
Current subtitle is "even overlords have to start somewhere." but I don't mind suggestions (would be a tad hypocritical on a suggestion threat I started myself.)
THe story has been sent in review. I set the title with Dark Lord Rising [GAME] and kept A Scion's Ascension as subtitle (might change later)
