To Gif or not Gif, that is the question.

    I've recently started using Gifs...

The above linked chapter and the one following each have a Gif.

    Do you think they work?

Are Gifs, and pics, a distraction? Or do they add to the story and eroticism?

My intention is to use them in key chapters or sex scenes and not in every chapter.

I personally have grown to dislike using pictures (minus a cover pic) for a few reasons:

    1) It restricts my descriptive options. With words, I can create anyone and anything, but pictures may restrict me from using certain models and whatever they're wearing. Spoiler Alert: Erotic models/porn stars tend to wear rather 'stylized' clothing that isn't always realistic. You're also at the mercy of how prolific said model is.
    2) Whilst I'm not saying you (or anyone who uses) a picture is a bad writer, I do feel it's pretty lazy to use a picture to describe a scene.
    3) It can be rather time-consuming to find the right image.

Thanks Ben. I tend to write the chapter, then see if a pic will fit, for the reasons you've described above.

Do you think it actually distracts the reader?

I really don't like pictures in a story besides the cover picture and pics depicting floor plans, game boards or sth.
I even stopped reading some stories as the author started adding pictures.

But I guess everyone has their own preference.
Some love pictures, some don't mind them, some don't like them at all.

Though, while I don't like pictures in chapters, I use pictures as resources for describing the characters and clothes.

It's hard to say, but I find myself ignoring text when there are images.
