Just feeling rambly, and writing this maybe more for my own accountability than anything else. But lately, I've been starting to write the beginnings (and middles) of a lot of threads and subplots ... but then I jump around and leave them in the middle to start a new one or edit an old one or ...

Now I've got about twelve different threads going, all different aspects of different characters in different episodes ... and while I'm excited about my ideas, I'm terrified that I'm going to ultimately feel overwhelmed to the point of abandoning the project entirely.

For my own accountability: ZANKOO, DON'T ABANDON YOUR PROJECT.

There, that's all, will probably delete this post later.

Prioritization, I feel, is key. Make a list of chapters to be written, threads to continue...and then just work it. If you keep pounding away at it, you'll make progress.

90% of getting stuff done is just showing up.

You got this, zankoo, one chapter at a time!

I feel this. I have started some new forks on a bunch of hooks on one story. Lately, I found ONE I really liked, and am running with it in a straight line. Okay, a gay line. Like, really super gay.

I am guiltlessly leaving those other threads hanging for when that's the kind of scene I feel like writing again. I am also procrastinating a grocery order, however, and I had probably ought to get on that.

So I know where my next "node" is ... that is, the next spot where all the threads will re-unite (before branching out again). The problem is, I keep creating more and more branches just ahead of that node, and I haven't finished ANY of them, so until then, I don't think it's right to move further. Thing is, I'm really excited about the next section ... but ugh! (All that, plus I just started a new real life job which is mind-meltingly hectic right now, and I don't have a single brain cell available. In fact ... why am I even here posting? I should be WORKING ...)

Pace yourself. It's a marathon, not a race.
