To get a bit of activity going again, what are everybody's current recommendations for something good to watch? I'll start.

I'm really enjoying Mr Inbetween at the moment. It's Australian and I normally hate Australian movies and TV shows so this is actually a big compliment from me. It's gritty, real, funny with some wonderful acting. Set in Sydney (I'm about 90% sure) it's about that seedy street-level crime that everyone seems to love. The main character is a hitman so possibly a slight comparison to Barry. I'll post up the trailer for anyone that wants to check it out. I highly recommend it if you can find it.

    So what's everyone else's recommendation?

Besides the usual IMDBcore recommendations which are great(Breaking Bad, The Wire, Sopranos, etc), I'd recommend Watchmen right now. In fact, Lindelof is one of my favorite showrunners and The Leftovers was excellent as well, probably one of my favorite shows.

For those who have Netflix, I'd highly recommend the show Nobel. A bit similar to The Bourne series but more grounded. It's about a Norwegian special forces soldier who finds himself dealing with conspiracy in Oslo which relates to his service in Afghanistan. Not the most original premise, but the execution makes it worth it.

If you're in need of a healthy dose of deranged, Happy! is something I'd highly recommend. The premise is a deranged detective-turned-hitman who's approached by his estranged daughter's imaginary friend, who is kidnapped by an insane Mall Santa. And that's just the tip of iceberg when it comes to the insanity that is Happy! It's also produced/mostly directed by Brian Taylor, one of the deranged minds behind the Crank movies, and if you like those, you'll like Happy!

BoJack Horsemen is also great and has probably become my favorite adult cartoon. It's about a washed-up actor who deals with his past, drug addiction, fame, and mental illness. It does a great job of balancing goofy antics with engaging character drama.

Final recommendation is Ozark. The show centers around a financial advisor who moves to the Missouri Ozarks with his family to launder money for a drug cartel. Great amount of tension throughout the series as the main character tries to bullshit his way through his problems. I felt the second season got a bit predictable, but still engaging enough to make it worth watching.

    Some great recommendations there!

I'll definitely add The Watchman to my watchlist. I was a big fan of the movie when it came out. I really like the setting and the Super Hero group contained. Would love to see more of the characters.

Bojack Horseman I love too. I found the lastest season a let down though. I am all for character growth and I understand the need for it but I watch the show for drug and alcohol-fueled mess that Bojack gets into. I found sober Bojack boring.

Ozark I really liked too and I'm waiting for the next season. Jason Bateman (is that the main actor) feels a bit samey in all his roles but the show is great. I loved the older farm couple but the teenage daughter drove me up the wall. I guess that's what they do though.

Nobel and Happy I don't know but I'll make sure I check them out.

As people may have guessed I recently rewatched "Tales From the Crypt"...
It's about fifty/fifty on episodes, but when they NAIL it... they nail it.
Skip Season 4 though... it's bad. Really bad.

I really like alternate-history-type stuff -- so I'm probably the only one watching it, but "For All Mankind" on Apple TV+ is doing a very good job with its premise of "what if the Soviet Union had put a man on the moon before the U.S.?"

I've been super into The Good Place lately. Hilarious, brilliantly paced show.
