We've all done it, published a thread or story before it was fully ready. Now with stories if you're quick about it you can sometimes get the mods help keeping it in draft mode till it's ready, but wouldn't it be nice if we could do that WITHOUT bothering Friedman and the mods? So here's what I propose, in addition to the "save chapter" button on the edit screen there is a "Un-publish" button, clicking which brings up a Y/N dialogue and saying "yes" puts the chapter back into draft mode. Authors could do it to thier own chapters, Owners and editors to any chapter in the story except the first one, and primary owners to even the story itself...
I did this recently myself and I got to thinking about it. A short term fix would be maybe just a policy of going back into the story and adding Please Return to Draft Mode to the title, replacing the subtitle, or writing it on the first page of the story in big bold letters. No need to bother or message anyone.
