I've been struggling the past few days. I've already got lot of chapters lined up and some ready to go, but I Don't know wether to release them one at a time or in bulk. From your guys' and gals' experience, which is better or rather what are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
If you want to game the system for likes and views, releasing them one by one is the best way to do it. The power of bump is huge at Chyoa.
It's been discussed elsewhere on the forum, but yes, by every engagement metric, releasing one at a time will be better. That's more chances for different eyes to fall on it on the updated story list. I think that's almost always the better idea. Some rare exception cases: 1. The chapter you'd end up posting really doesn't work without the other chapters around it (most often in a game-mode story). 2. This may not be an actual benefit so much as my own tendency, but if I know I'm going to have two options to choose from anyway and the story won't feel complete without both chapters, I'll often post both at once to head off the inevitable question. If it's going to be a long branch that'd follow each, though, I wouldn't hold it like that, I'd just indicate somewhere which one was WIP.
One more exception: you should post the first few chapters in one go, so that people have a chance to get into the story.
Essentially agree with this, though I'd add a slight variation. If the set up to a scene and the sex are in different chapters, posting both together or within a few hours seems to work better than posting the set up and then a day later posting the sex scene.
