So… third time’s a charm, yeah I am planning on starting a RP based on Vampire the Masquerade. It would concentrate more on RP than sex – but it would not omit those elements. To make the experience greater, I would suggest playing in the 1st POV. But playing in 3rd POV would still be possible. The game itself would start with the creation of a character – a human (sometime before their Embrace - being changed into a vampire). The players can choose when the human was turned into a vampire – it can be the modern era, medieval era, ancient Egypt, Napoleonic wars, etc. The RP would follow their final days as human then first days as Vampires making the first steps. Then, according to the player’s preference – either continue the adventures in the era, move to the next era, or play in the modern era (and replay some important moments during the game-play - like reliving memories) The sex element (modified VTM rules) for Vampires – well, it’s possible for them to have sex and feel (at the cost of blood) the pleasure, to enjoy the pleasure of the flesh. But it’s also a tool, along with seduction, to get blood. The game would mostly concentrate on individual players… something along a single-player theme. The Vampires could have met in past, but most of their interactions would be during the modern era. On the other side, each player could play the entire RP without interacting with other players. It’s possible for players to plan their interactions – one (embraced during ww2) could be sire to other players (and embrace character during the modern era). They could be rivals, friends or even lovers. The plot would resolve around intrigue and power struggle between vampires, interactions with humans and fighting monsters - while being one.
Sounds interesting, but with that type of game play/story telling. Things might get confusing, given how fast posts get made.
You mean the 1st/3rd POV? After thinking about it, you might actually be correct about it. I will go with the traditional 3rd POV...
Some years ago I played VTM: Redemption, but that's my only interaction with VTM, so I'll probably pass and just read.
So, I was pointed out that I made things overcomplicated... again. So I reviewed the scenario and decided to make it simpler. All players shall be starting in modern times as humans. They will be soon turned into vampires, only to discover the turbulent state of the Vampire society... and I shall not give more than that, not to spoil. I remember that one, I spent some hours with it. I shall be giving some tutorials at the begging steps of players vampirehood. You are free to join anytime you want.
Those time periods do work as options. There's rulebooks entirely for the older ages too. The only real notes is Tremere and Giovanni don't exist until the dark ages and renaissance respectively. Also while elder vampires don't have sex without using blush of life, thin bloods can just do that at no cost...at the price of being thin bloods. Which is grounds for death for existing in some places. Though, I'll probably not do this game myself, so doesn't mater what I say. I just don't find vampires or blood all that sexy, really. Sure, if they still have a nice enough character design and all but...
