I sent a message to Friedman over Chyoa's Facebook page and he said there was a server crash and that it would take some time to get it back up. If there was anything added in during the time, only Friedman would know.
The downtime was due to a server crash on Saturday, November 15. I did have backups. However, they were a few days old, so some stories and threads would have been lost. Because the file system of the server was corrupted, I had to hire a Linux Administrator to restore the data. This lasted a few days. Then I had to install the server environment from scratch. Also, I have taken the opportunity to set up the CDN CloudFlare. Currently I am planning to upgrade the server environment by adding failover capability. This means that Chyoa will be hosted on a cluster in the future and if a server fails, another jumps in. If everything goes according to plan, failover will be added next weekend. New features are coming, but so far I was concerned with the restoration of the data.
