I ... just thought it'd be interesting to hear of people's habits. Why do you favorite? Is it because you like the story so much you want to keep an eye on it? Do you feel like you need to come back later when you're more in the mood or have more energy to spare (depending on what sort of story it is)? Much appreciated.
Well, basically because I want to continue reading. So it doesn't really depend on the number of chapters but rather the current length. The best bet for me might about 1000-2,000 words, more might be intimidating. It is also very important that the story is written nicely, and has an interesting hook. Stories which just manage to achieve the minimum length of a storyline (250 words) are most likely not making it on my Fav list, which basically gives them no real chance to impress me. (250 words are not much.)
Fair. I find it easy to filter out the content I'm not interested in, but I keep my list short to begin with...
Even if the content is not my thing I'll like a chapter if it's well written. If the subject matter is my thing then I'll normally always like it unless it's poorly written. Most of the chapters I like are driven by who has liked my chapters. I try my best to return the favour and like those who've liked my stuff.
