I have had this idea for a while now, but never really had the correct media (because I am unoriginal and can only write fanfics) to perform this on. But to continue, here's a question: What if one day, you wake up, but you're not in control of your own body? Somehow, you are aware of what's happening, you see what's happening, but you're not doing anything. You speak, you walk, you wank, you shite, and whatever normal bodily functions people perform, except you're forced to watch. I do understand that there are "sentient body parts" stories out in the wild there, but I like the horror of watching me doing things that aren't my commands (and the lack of impulse control has fucked me over in the past). Not exactly mind control, but a character's body could accept commands from others; An evil spirit or doppelganger decides that their use of a character's body will be much more worthwhile, while still keeping the person inside (technically); some kind of implant is installed in a character's brain, and now they're forced to obey it. Anything goes really, and like I said previously, it could resonate with somebody's fears that they'll lose control of themselves one day but are forced to watch. Some people turn their fears into kinks I suppose / what better way to face your fears than to mock them?
Are you asking which story to do a fanfic of? There are a ton with this premise or something like it: Being John Malkovich, Gamer, Get Out, Peacemaker, etc...
No, just wanted to share an idea that I've had for the longest time now. But I figured that, just because I couldn't write it, doesn't mean somebody else might want to use it. And it doesn't even have to be a fanfic too, it could be entirely their own idea on where it takes place, or to decide where the concept could be best suited for.
I personally would have the loss of control more intermittant and the protagonist loses control of their body temporarily. A variation could be that the consciousness was that of a human that has been implanted in a android companion model to give it a human level AI. Previous memories and identity were supposed to be wiped, but a mistake or deliberate sabotage by an employee at the android assembly means they retain their personality. Whoever owns the android has verbal control that the consciousness within cannot override, for instance it cannot refer to itself as anything but it's newly assigned name or when the sexy time programme is initiated it is unable to object and responds in keeping with whatever programme the owner has initiated, IE submissive, girlfriend experiance etc.
Possibly some sort of stepford wives scenario where the person is forced to observe while their body becomes this obediant compliant smiling vessel for their partners' pleasure? I had been toying with something like that a while ago.
Or a kind of lycanthropy where every full moon a woman's body goes on a superhuman sexual rampage with her consciousness along for the ride. The other 27 days she may not be physically capable. (Elderly, disabled, etc)
I actually have a couple of branches of LLNO like this, where Lois Lane is possessed by another entity (either the demon Blaze or the ghost of her mother) and is basically a passenger in her own body.
I think it's not "consciousness takes a back seat" the owner of the body is fully conscious, but lost control of her body. And I'm thinking of some kind of alien parasite.
