I was fooling around and stumbled onto this web site. You can enter your writing in so that it gives you a word count but it also tells you other things to the side such as your writing level. According to this I am writing at a ninth to tenth grade level which is better then I thought it would say. https://wordcounter.net/
I can't see a writing level. I only see "reading level" which, according to the description, indicates what education level you would need to easily understand the text. Longer sentences and high usage of uncommon words result in a higher reading level. Speaking time could be quite useful in some cases to get a vague idea how long a scene would take.
It's weird to think that I've put eighty five thousand words into a story already. That's like...I don't know, three hundred and a few dozen pages? Though frankly I'm more surprised I've only used the word "dope" three times.
I do a lot of drafting on Google Docs, which has a built in word counter. I like that this one shows reading level, though.
