Hey guys, first time using the forum! I'm the writer for 'You are nothing', a hot read on the BDSM category over the past couple of weeks. What I'm asking is, what do I do? Severe writers block / lack of inspiration is stopping me continuing after I wrote 18 chapters within three days. What do you guys do to help? Anyone with BDSM experience would be recommended to tell me! haha
When I can't write, I read. Other stories can spark something, or give me an idea that I want to take in a different direction. Read other categories besides BDSM. Some scenes that other people write can inspire you to change their scene into something that could fit your BDSM story. When that doesn't work, I step away from writing altogether. It's strange how many story ideas pop up when I'm mowing the lawn or doing something mundane like washing the dishes.
And expanding on what Fautus said, don't forget to look outside of Chyoa. There are millions of stories across the internet (and even regular books) that can help you, even if they aren't BDSM related.
First thing I do is set a limit of how many chapters I write to stay fresh, usually no more than four a day. If blocked, then I watch TV/movies and picture how I would write what I see, You'd be amazed at how much better some shows become thinking about fucking the star, or setting them up to be fucked. If still blocked ,talk to others to get suggestions of what hey would like to see/read.
I make sure to put a goal for each branch to end. I only deviate from my goal if the story needs it or if I can further the story. Typically I know how a branch will end and try to get there within 10-15 chapters. I also try to refrain from pushing the story past a good end point. For example if the goal is to have X character make Y submit the story ends when Y fully submits. Having a continuation without progression in the narrative/character development is just stretching things out and can get bland.
