It's always the "people are too offended" guys that bitch and whine about having their feelings hurt more than anyone else I know.
If your "values" are that you should be allowed to be an asshole to other people, but if they don't call you cool, then there needs to be a new special rule so people can't say mean words back to you, it's sure as hell not because you're secretly some kind of ultra tough badass.

For some reason finding it hard to write my main story, but I had a blast starting on the Story Competition! Very excited to write more!!
I view the act of writing as more important then what you write. So yes, it can be easy to get hung up on a particular story and just get stuck. This is also why I recommend to not start publishing until you have written a clear path to the ending to avoid that exact issue. But then again that's an advice I don't always heed myself lol
On the other hand, the pressure of needing to release on the regular can help keep you going. ...Or it may turn your hobby into a chore. I've done both: finish first then publish, or publish chapter-by-chapter as you go (while keeping a small buffer for unexpected setbacks). YMMV!
I'm glad you're writing for the story contest! I found doing mine ungunked me a bit and I'm back to work on one of my games. Hope it does the same, ungunking you when you finish!
As for the Wicker situation... there's a lot I wanna say there, but as far as objective facts go, Wicker runs the Image Inspiration story, which has a very simple formula of "[image > short chapter > image] repeat_forever" He also seems to be very involved in the celebrity deepfake section of the site, which takes up a good chunk of stories.
Holy, that’s pretty wild! I always find it sad to start stories and find they’re unfinished (which happens a looot lol). It makes a lot more sense now that I see it laid out in your post. Kinda wish the adopt-a-story program was more popular, because that could cure this problem a lot, yes?
For me personally, starting a new story is where most of the fun is. I've tried to write sequels or endings to other people's stories, and I've never succeeded. What I have a shortage of is not ideas; it's time to turn those ideas into fully fledged stories. And I assume that's true for most writers! Otherwise, we wouldn't have so many unfinished stories.
Feels like the top rated stories are always kind of the most generically boring. Guess it makes sense in a way.
Instead of "We went to a Bedroom/Study" you can write "We went to a Bedroom cum Study" Which is infinitely superior

Oddly, comments can be longer than the original post: 420 (lolroflmalo etc) vs. 140 characters. On second thought, there's something to be said for that: commen's don't show up on the front page, so they don't cause clutter.
I'm sick of hearing how I need to empathize and have sympathy for people who have no intention of doing the same for anyone but themselves.
