I don't think that's a major deal, tbh The fact is we all can understand sentences at the ends of paragraphs even without periods The proof is in this comment
Writing second-person POV protagonists bothers me more and more. It just feels so damn awkward to be _telling_ readers how they feel.
Do note that outside of the actual context, it is also really interesting to imagine a world where a writer can subliminal a reader into truly experiencing a story like that.
Word count quotas come to mind when I think of 'quantity' and 'writing' in the same sentence. Obviously, it gets kids to write more, but I'm not sure if it ever really improved someone's quality (or quantity) of life.
That is one of the fetishes that I just don't get. Like, it may not be disgusting, but I also don't get how someone considers it erotic. Same with stuff like tickling or spanking. Not gonna kinkshame, but I also do not see how it can be sexy to some folks.
I feel like spanking is a lot more associable with things like BDSM, the whole 'pain feeld good' crowd. Armpit though, tends to run in the same vein as the feet lovers.
Coming back to writing from being hella busy IRL! I mean, I'm still hella busy IRL! Hahaha! But smut is life ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
You takes two GM in two rpg for last year. It’s completely normal that at some point you will burn out. Take a break for few days, catch some fresh air, smell nature or go on the walk. I will be definitely waiting.
Sorry for going quiet. I've been struggling my way through two uni assignments that are kicking my ass. New stuff is coming, though.
@GyroscopicGraphite neither myself nor Impregmaniac have aphantasia, but rather hypophantasia; which means our visualization capacity is reduced but still there. Part of why I'm a bookworm is vivid descriptions can create vivid images in my head, which is the only way that ever happens. For the same reason, I play Dungeons and Dragons.
@GyroscopicGraphite for me, I need an anchor or reference point for the picture to pop up in my head. If I were to imagine a person, I'd need to remember a celebrity's face that's kind of close to what I think they'd look like, and make adjustments from there.
@OccasionalReader funnily enough, it was during my Pathfinder game when I had the 'epiphany' of my hypophantasia, because I constantly show pictures or movie scenes to my players when I can't quite explain whats happening.
I have had a few ideas for stories. Was thinking about one of 'em, switched one detail around and now I have a whole new story idea from it.
True. But it is funny that this time it is not even based on any existing story since I am still just workshopping how the story would go.
Now the question is; do you make two seperate stories, 2 branches of the same story, or do you pick the one you like more and hang no.2 on the gallows?
I don't think this is one for Chyoa anyway. Either one I make, I would prefer to do a regular story without branches. And putting those on this site feels like a waste.
It is frustrating when something like that happens. Do you get the account back or will you just have to make a new one and start from 0 again?
I managed taking it back. it seems unlikely they got anything valuable since it's a two layer phising scheme but they managed stealing my discord token. I'm using an authtencitaor app now for good measure. backup code changes every 30 seconds so should be helpful
I started working on a chapter and realized… I forgot my own lore. Now I have to read my OWN story to learn the lore! Wtf!
I've always been one to refer to my older chapters because I forgot what day of the week it was, even in the middle of a more consistent schedule.
That's actually not too uncommon. If it's a lot of backstory I suggest jotting the cliffnotes down somewhere to make sure to keep matters consistent
What’s terrible is I have notes! I just didn’t keep track of who knows what (secrets and the like), so I can’t write any dialogue that advances the story because… what do they know lol
I think a Commission AI of sorts that looked for artists open for commission that would do your prompt would be really cool.
Would still make use of AI's 'scrub the web down to its individual posts' thing but would still support artists while also leading people to places they might end up really enjoying.
Obviously there's probably still some sort of way this could be abused, but it's better than the current system of slop and scraping, and its not like it requires quite the same energy consumption of those big data centers we have at the moment.
The parody song of Video Killed the Radio Song, "Radioactive Shrimp from Walmart" is now living rent-free in my head.
Clearly unserious arody songs are a very special kind of 'hit-or-miss' in that it's either a hard miss, the funniest shit you've heard in months, or actually more enjoyable of a listen that the original if you wait for the right time.
@GyroscopicGraphite it only took *two days* for the Internet to make a song making fun of the incident XD
update: someone uploaded it to YouTube and I can now link it without TikTok's hidden built-in tracking! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yopBLdzqXM
Are any of you highly educated in scientific fields and if so how inaccurate/summarized can I describe a complex concept before you get mad?
I'm a programmer. My frustration with inaccurate portrayal of my job (and adjacent ones in the field) by mass media has loooong since run dry. So go on, reverse the polarity on those bits! Overclock the hard drive! Insert a backdoor in the stack trace!
I'm highly educated in a few, including gender, particularly as it relates to neurology. As long as someone's summary doesn't cross the line from reductionism to falsehood, I don't particularly mind.
