Can never tell if I'm writing too much or not enough. Whichever, I am not writing exactly the right amount, or at least not the right stuff.
The sad reality is that a lot of times if somebody makes it in Literature or not comes down to luck and connections.
Finding the right publisher AND the right audience is in large parts luck even if obviously some level of skill is necessary as well.
That feeling when you think you're being clever about climate and regions and stuff...And you just accidentally made Pakistan...
That's probably a good sign! It suggests that you're handling these things in a reasonably realistic way. (Assuming that's what you're after, of course. After all, realism isn't mandatory.)
Sorry everyone for the delays on my rps. I'm in finals mode, but should be finished in 1-2 wks and ready to get cracking.
Views also dropped a lot, but not as much as likes did. In the 10 days before I posted the last chapter, the story got about 1000 views/day. Afterwards: 340 views/day. Whereas it went from 148 likes/day in the same 10 days, to zero, zip, nada.
I think it's a matter of repeat senders; someone can view a chapter multiple times (I think, anyways) but only like it once. Also, aside from front page priviledge, the audience for any recent chapters are gonna be the people who actually enjoy you as an author and have notifications on for you, who are WAY more likely to leave a like.
I think another aspect is that you need an account to leave likes, people who come to the site often are more likely to have an account, and people who come to the site often are more likely to see your story early than people who don't. Then when you stop posting updates, your readers-with-accounts stop reading (because they've already read everything), and your likes stop coming in too.
@GyroscopicGraphite But i don't want to RP with your mom though, still thanks for that constructive help.
Slightly changed a character's personality and my mental image of her grew 10 centemeters. Truly, the human mind is forever confounding.
There are people who have been on this site for a literal decade, and are still using a default profile picture, which is hilarious to me.
Well, not everyone cares about modifying their profile. I was here for more than a decade before I bothered to set up a profile picture for myself.
If you only use your account for selfish reasons (like favouriting stories or gaining access to restricted categories), there isn't much point in dressing up.
